  • Halas Barbarian Beastlord Newbie Armor

I'll post the log of the quest text later on. For now, stats:

    Field Priest's Bracer: ac3 hp2
    Field Priest's Cap: ac4 sta1
    Field Priest's Kilt: ac5 agi2
    Field Priest's Claw: H2H, 5/24
    Field's Priest's Leather: ac11 str3

All of the beastlord armor quests were added with the class, so this isn't new.

    Shopping List:

    Bracers: 2 White Wolf Pelts
Cap: 3 silk threads, large tattered skullcap
    Kilt: 4 ice goblin beads
Claw: gnoll fang (no drop), giant snake fang, hunting bow
    Tunic: wrath orc wristband

The wolf pelts are uncommon at best. You can buy a skullcap in Mac's kilts, I think it is a stocked item. You can get these items from killing prior to level 3.

The gnoll fangs can be found in Everfrost from gnolls outside Blackburrow; level 5 or 6 to kill; hunting bows drop from various gnolls inside. The giant snake fang comes from giant snakes on the snake ledge in Blackburrow; at least level 9, possibly need to be level 10 or 11.

The wristbands drop from snow orc troopers, which are level 8-10 approximately. Level required to kill is 9+, although I'd probably suggest the 15 warder to hunt safely in the open plains near the river where orcs are commonest.

This quest can easily be done by Vah Shir beastlords as well. Indeed, barbarians (and all other beastlord races) can also do the Vah Shir quests for Ghulam armor, in Shadeweavers Thicket.

Field Priest Keven turns towards you. 'There you are. I have been waiting for you. Are you ready to begin your training? With my help you will be able to command a great beast to become your most trusted companion. Read the note in your inventory and hand it to me when you are ready to begin your training.'
Field Priest Keven says 'Welcome Kandoen! The blood of our brothers the wolves run strong through your veins. You must learn to control your spiritual link with our canine brothers. Wear this tunic so that others may recognize you as a Field Priest of the Tribunal, the claws and fangs of justice! Talk to my friend Hoyce and he can get you started.'
Your faction standing with Shamen of Justice got better.
Your faction standing with Merchants of Halas got better.
Your faction standing with Circle Of Unseen Hands got worse.
Your faction standing with Coalition of Tradefolk Underground got worse.
Your faction standing with Ebon Mask got worse.
    You gain experience!!
    You say, 'Hail, Hoyce MacTaegan'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'Greetings to you brother. Did [Keven] send you?'
    You say, 'Keven sent me'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'Very well, then let us begin. We are at home in the wilderness and thus it is important that we learn all we can about our surroundings. Now is the time of your learning. You are to venture out, hunt and learn about Everfrost. Return to me with a White Wolf Skin as proof of your successful hunt. We will then continue your training.'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'Very good! I am sure by now you are learning much about your local surroundings. It is now time for you to learn to [live off the land].'
    [is handed Field Priest's Bracer]
You say, 'How do I live off the land'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'There is a bounty waiting for us in the wilderness for those with the wisdom to use it. Your next task is to find that wisdom within yourself and to use it. I shall task you with the creation of a few simple items from the materials available to us all. Go forth and harvest silk to make thread. Then when you feel you have learned enough, make a cap for yourself from the pelt of a bear. Return three Silk Thread and a Large Tattered Skullcap to me and I shall reward you.'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'I see your wisdom grows, as does your skill. Wear this cap I have made for you. I believe you are now skilled enough to begin to pursue justice and to fight against our enemies. Are you [willing to fight]?'
[is handed a Field Priest's Cap]
You say, 'I am willing to fight'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'That's the spirit! No doubt you know by now that our people are under constant attack by the goblins that infest our lands. Go out and fight against our enemies and bring justice to our people. Return to me with four Goblin Ice Necklaces and you shall have your just reward.'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'I see you have brought many of our enemies to justice. You have done an excellent job and should be proud. No doubt your efforts saved lives. It is now time for you to venture out and fight stronger foes. Are you [up to the challenge]?'
[is handed a Field Priest's Kilt]
You say, 'I am up to the challenge'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'Your zeal for justice is indeed a virtue. You make us all proud. Very well, venture out and into the home of those accursed dogs. Go to Blackburrow the home of the gnolls. There you are to fight against them and to retrieve the weapons of our mortal enemies. Return to me with a Gnoll Fang, a Giant Snake Fang and a Hunting Bow. I shall give you a weapon suitable for one such as yourself.'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'You truly have justice in your heart. The spirits know this too. No doubt you are now beginning to hear their faint whispers. Soon you shall hear them clearly and you shall no longer need my guidance. I have one more [favor] to ask of you if you are [willing].'
    [is given Field Priest's Claw]
You say, 'I am willing to do a favor'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'I thank you for your willingness to help. Many of our people hunt the mighty mammoth and the cougar out in the vast and frigid plains. Aside from the risk of injury that often comes from hunting such fearsome and mighty creatures, there is the added risk of being attacked by the terrible snow orcs. Go and protect our people hunting in the plains of Everfrost, fight against the snow orc and return to me with a Wrath Orc Wristband. Surely the spirits will forever guide you.'
Hoyce MacTaegan says 'Thank you very much, you have our thanks. Perhaps you will find some use for this. I have shown you all that I can young one. Now it is up to you. Listen to the spirits and work with them and they will work with you. Now go forth and continue to spread justice throughout the world.'
[is given a Field Priest's Leather]

All items are lore, apart from the bracer. The claw is primary only, and lore, so you can't use it as a secondary for dual wield (at 17).

You'll notice that the quest text is chained, so that you don't discover the prompts for the next in sequence until you have completed each hand in.
