    Better?

    Define better. Better for what?

    Less expensive?
    More profitable?
    Easier?

A DE necro would make a good tradeskiller from a variety of aspects. It depends on what you want to do with it.

Yes, there are some races/classes that have slight advantages in different areas, but these are almost exclusively in terms of cultural smithing, cultural tailoring, cultural fletching, or race/class specific.

Dark elves have decent cultural smithing options and some new cultural tailoring through the LoY robes. I believe humans have the most options for smithing, but there are many other races with cultural smithing of one degree of usefulness or another. Only halflings, wood elves, and erudites have true cultural tailoring beyond the LoY robes. Only wood elves have cultural fletching. Only gnomes can tinker, only rogues can make poison, and only shamans have alchemy.

For all other tradeskills, race and class are largely immaterial -- though enchanters and clerics are handy for imbues, enchanting stuff, and mana vials (most of which can be purchased either directly or through donating for services) and foraging skill makes baking and brewing a little easier -- though again you can get around that in most cases through the bazaar.

As a DE necromancer, you can help your pottery situation by running a chanter alt up to level 8 and enchanting clay that way by using the shared bank -- it's only a level 8 spell and it's dead easy to get a chanter up that high.
