  • alkaline etched stones...

    Hi.

Have been trying to farm these off and on, would say I have killed perhaps...20 total. I have not seen a single stone. My hit list includes the 'mindless tunnelers' and the 'shadow crawlers', as stated on the website.

Is there an increased drop rate further in, on the eyeless and other burrowers? Or can anyone tell me that I am retarded, and need to stop making them not drop? Thanks for any help in advance.

    Re: alkaline etched stones...

Hi. Sorry I can't answer your question but I have a question of mine to you. Where do you hunt for those mobs? I don't know PoJ well but I do know how to get to the trials area and the Deathrow area. I have not wandered around a bit but I haven't found where those mobs reside. If you can provide a detailed instruction on how to get them it would be very much appreciated.

Mobs are found in the escape tunnels under PoJ. Can't really tell you how to find them since I haven't gone down there yet, sorry. Guildie killed those things for 3 hours the other day and not one drop of ANYTHING. OMG I hate PoP drop rates.

I confirm that Alkaline Etched Stonedrom form the worms in the Escape tunnel PoJ. Its a rare drop and i have yet only seen 2 drop.

Im afraid its kind of tricky to tell you where it is since its a maze of ****.
My best advice is to run around invis and look for a " Spirit Dwarf" (Dont remember the name) He is one of the prisoners. The entrence is behind that fellow. Cant see it so just click the wall behind him and a door opens.

        Hope that helped you some

          Info...

The stones do drop, but they're pretty rare. We went through maybe 30 or so of the silly worms the other night and got two, but we'd done similar kills in the past and gotten none, so you'll just have to be patient. I don't know if the worms further in drop them more often.

As for -where- do you hunt this stuff... go here:
The Safehouse: Back Alley There's a sticky with PoP maps that includes a PoJ map. The squiggly looking tunnels are the area you want.

            stones

            My experience killing these guys.

Day 1: killed about 20. No stones
            Day 2: Killed about 30. 2 Stones
Day 3: Killed no less than 50. No stones
Day 4: working on that now. Killed 6 so far, no stones.

Ok... going to give a stab at how EASY it is to get to the tunnels... Not at finding the stones thought... that's the hard part.

Anywho, from the GY (graveyard) go to the first level (where the zone out is). Once you open the door and you see the prisoners cells in front of you (if you open the door right in front of you, should see a prisoner Iksar monk asleep on the floor unless the prisoners are being killed). If you go right, keep going till you come to the first door on your right (after the zone out hall). If you go Left, keep going till you come to the first door on your left (after the zone out hall of course)... Yup... it's a big circle.

When you find that door, go through it and there is a tiny connecting hallway with another door. When you open that second door you see a yellow Tribunal symbol on the wall. You want to turn Right and keep going until you see a Tribunal symbol on the wall directly across form a door (on the LEFT). When you open that door, there are stairs going down.. take those down. At the bottom of the stairs turn Left and open the door. Here you want to go Right and follow tunnel until it dead ends.. On your left will be an open door way with Stairs goign down and a door on the right. In that door is the Spirit Dwarf and if you click the wall behind him, it opens into the escape tunnels.

in this hall with the Spirit Dwarf, there are a few prisoners to be weary of. Try to run in the middle of the hall. You can get agro from the cells. The two main ones I see people agroing are hte undead Gnoll and the Webmistress. If your a faction whore, you don't want to kill these cause they decrease your faction with prisoners (makes it a bit more difficult running through tunnels) and increases faction with the guards.

If you agro the Spirit Dwarf, it's best to pull him into the escape tunnel and dispatch him there instead of his room or the hallway cause guards WILL help him. Just invis yourself and run past him and shut the door behind you so you don't agro him.

Now... The tunnels... I have seen SO many groups whipe here. They are NOT for the hapless. You MUST know what your doing and what your group is capable of. I would definitly recommend an evacer. I have a standard rule that if I pull more than 2 (with no CCer) to just start evacing... The problem with tunnels are that the agro range is QUITE high here and the walls of the tunnels are VERY thin. one pull and you can bring 4+ mobs if you don't know where you are. I would also HIGHLY recommend that no one be on horse if they are in tunnels (we have had more trouble with mage/wiz/chant/etc on horses than any other time... Just make sure all your people SIT in the center of the tunnels and not on the walls. A good druid or ranger using the new harmony spell should be able to harmony them and pull well. Oh, and respawn is about 20 minutes.

Best of luck on getting your trade supplies!
