  • Farming the components for ceramic skulls and gavels

I play on the newest server(stromm) and I am fairly sure that these items do not yet exist on my server. I would very much like to have both of them, and have found a 225+ skill potter that will do the combines if I can gather the materials.

From looking at the mob list on alla it seems that we would be able to duo the components for the gavel, but the components for the skull will be a little harder. I have the putrid ooze already, so I need the foul smelling liquid and the bubonian blood. I have seen the liquid in the bazaar rarely, never seen the blood for sale.

I play a necro and shaman, currently 59 and 58 but soon to be 61 and 58. I would like a little info on the best way to farm the components that I need. I am especially interested in the skull, but the gavel will be quite nice to have. It seems that I might be able to root dot the pulsings when I am 61 just using the necro, but I have very very little experience in cod so thought I would ask. If need be I can probably drag a group down there, but again I am almost totally unfamiliar with cod so I would feel kinda bad leading people there without a little information.

It also appears that my lvl 61 pet will be able to tank the mobs that drop the items for the gavel, once they are slowed. Is this true? I also have no clue where these guys spawn as I was already 60 when pop came out so I pretty much avoided the tier 1 zones.

Thanks for any info that you can offer to me!

Allakhazam's is wrong. Bubonian blood drops off bubonians, not puslings. Puslings drop the foul smelling liquid though.

I don't know if the puslings in Plane of Disease drop the liquid or not (probably do), but the ones in CoD do. Be prepared to do some feign pulling at first, as you're likely to get four at a time from any of the camps in PoD. I'm not sure about CoD.

Bubonians are rat-men. In PoD they're in the cave, that's probably the easiest place. Near the entrance of the cave is all spiders, but as you go a little deeper into the cave there are lots of bubonians. Best to bring a group into the cave, because the spiders heal themselves so you want more DPS.

I haven't done much in CoD but it seems to be a pretty straightforward dungeon crawl. A group would probably move straight forward to the first room and pull to there... but you could pull to zonein if there's nobody else in the zone.

The components for the gavel are rare. It'll take a long time to get the crystalized cloudy eyes. There's only one place to get them -- the tunnels behind one of the cells. Those are narrow, twisty tunnels with aggro through the walls -- it's only too easy to pull a train on yourself. That's actually probably easier without a group, as a full group running through the tunnels is more likely to create a train.

The crysallized cloudy eyes are for the Jewelry Glittering ring of judgement. The gavel of justice uses enforcer stone, white diamond of justice (alkaline etched stone), and gralok quartz.

        For the gavel...

When you come to the stairs in PoJ heading to basement, go left instead of the right you'd take to go to basement. When you open the door on the left of the stairs, head right and follow the hallway til it ends. At the end there's a set of stairs going down and a door on the right. Go in that door to find a Priest of Tumagal (probably kos but doesnt see invis).

Grallok quartz is pretty rare off the various gralloks in the caves. I root split them at 65, can't single pull. Unslowed they hurt a bit but after slow I can tank 2 or so w/o having to torpor myself. Max out around 260-270, odd pathing, can train yourself np if you arent careful when they flee at under 20% health.

Alkaline Etched Stones are rather uncommon as well, but drop in the same general area. Mindless Tunnelers and Shadow Crawlers drop it. Mindless Tunnelers = ranger, Shadow Crawlers = rogues, gotta be ready for the annoying casting/backstabs. Probably a bit more resistant than gralloks and seem to do more dmg to me at least.

Can duo it np with a shaman/necro at 60ish. Buff up though. Doubt your pet could tank these, my pet gets owned within 30-40 seconds or so. Roughly 10k hp on all the mobs in there, watch pathing it sucks.

An enchanter, druid or ranger is good for single pulling here, with bind sight and harmony, i was able to pull singles the whole time i hunted here.

great, thanks for the info. Made 61 on my necro, but now I am busy farming emp/vt stuff but when I am done with that I will start gathering these components.

              CoD

I've been spending quite a bit of time in CoD. I have a huge surplus of Bubonian bloods and need more putrid ooze to make more skulls. Here's my advice for bubonian blood.

The Bubonian's in PoD might be easier than CoD, but if you put together a group that can do the CoD bubonians you'll get more blood there. They hit hard so you need a good tank and a slower. You can invis right to them in CoD without fighting puslings or you can clear puslings if you need the foul smelling liquid as well. From the zone in if you go down the hall and make your first right there will be a hallway full of puslings followed by a small room with 3 Bubonians and a cavern full of them. Unless you killed it one of the puslings in this hallway will always see invis. However if you want to skip the puslings, from the zone in invis and go straight. Make your SECOND right and then go to the end of that small hallway and make another right and a quick left and you're in the small room with the Bubonians.

I'm an enchanter. If you're looking for the minimum group to kill these CoD Bubonians, group with a paladin or SK that can grab aggro fast so you can slow without drawing aggro. This way you can do it with a Pally/SK, slower, good healer, and at least one more for extra damage. None of the normal Bubonians see invis FYI. If you go into the caverns be careful of the swarming fly trap.
