  • Casserole dishes - am I missing something?

I'm trying to use Casserole dishes to do 149-199. It's what I think basically everyone recommends. The recipe calls for:

    Large Block of Clay
    Casserole Dish Sketch
    Ceramic Lining
    Water Flask

Now I don't know what the deal is with this. The ceramic lining, wtf is it? I can ONLY find it as a sketch, but i'm already using the casserole dish sketch. When I try and combine large block of clay, casserole dish sketch, ceramic lining sketch, and water flask, it won't let me. I've searched everywhere, on sites, on like 15 diff vendors in tons of cities for something simply called Ceramic Lining, and not the Ceramic Lining Sketch, and I can't find it. Wtf am I doing wrong? Thanks.

Go to the pottery recipe page..... look at the 3rd recipe down (ceramic lining).. and read. Yes, you have to fire things in pottery to use them.

Don't feel badly, I thought the same thing. I bought a pottery manual from a vendor to find ceramic lining! Oh that was a lot of precombines to get to 199! But much cheaper than what I'm doing now!

If you have a fair amount of pp, I would recommend skipping the casserole dishes Ceramic linings are a pain to make.

I went to bazaar and bought 400 Zombie skins @ 4pp, and made vials to 188. Then I farmed vendors to make PoP Steins to 216.

Yea sorry for the wtf =)

Thanks for the tips guys. Yes I do have some cash - I'll try and avoid the casserole. What's with the zombie skins - thought it was old world pelts or something that we had to use for that.

                Zombie skins work too.

                  Zombie Skins

Actually, if you really want zombie skins, an excellent and often overlooked place is South Karana. There is a non-functional, deserted, wizard pyramid in South Karana with a static 6 to 12 zombie/skeleton spawn guaranteed each round. Some rounds 6 spawns, some 12, always either zombies or skeletons or a mixture.

It's quiet, and never occupied. You don't have to worry you're stealing the spawns from a player who could get experience from them. Since the 6 to 12 spawns pop in two lines in front of the pyramid, there's no tracking necessary and no running around looking for the spawns.

All in all, it's a rather steady supply of the skins for little effort.

                      Zombie Skins

I did the poison vials up to 188 then casserole dish sketches to 199, the place i found it easiest to aquire mass numbers of zombie skins was the beach in Gunthak. Some of those zombies can drop up to 4 skins at once! also farm the vendors there as most other people sell them and those vendors are not farmed often.

Casserole Dish sketches are only sold in one zone, Jagged Pine. Check the EQTraders Trade Supplies page [see the link at the top of this page] for details.

Useless past history now, but just a side note on zombie skins, up until the last patch Feerot was a goldmine for skins. There is a small camp of undead near the outer spectre by the tunnel to Fear. The spawns were a random mix of skeletons and zombies (the squishy-run-of-the-mill-would-barely-win-against-a-decayed-skeleton-type zombies).

There was one particular spawn at this camp that was standing far enough away that you could stand next to it and not worry about being annoyed with undead greenie aggro from the others. It was also an instant-spawn. Literally. As soon as the zombie or skeleton at that spot hit 0% another would pop right there before the first had even finished hitting the ground. You could stand there all day and just mash the attack button (the new spawn is aggro to everyone regardless of level so it would attack as soon as it spawned.."autotargetting" so to speak, so you didn't even have to use the mouse). Wait till you get a good stack of bodies, then start looting while the next insta-spawn greenie flails at you feebly. Lather, rinse, repeat. You could fill your bags with zombie skins and (if you wanted) bone chips like nobody's business.

As of last week the spot seems to have been "fixed" and the spawn is on a more normal timer with the rest of the camp. I know it was a bug, and probably an "exploit". I /bugged the spot and waited a few days. No fix and no response so I figured I was free to farm. Now that I am getting to the point where I am going to start vials myself I am really goint to miss that spot. Ah well. It needed to be fixed.
