  • 188+ Skill

A topic similar like this has probably been posted but im here to ask of others poeples opinions to see what they did for skills. Right now im sitting at around 20k in the bank for materiels costs i can always farm more since i can do it myself but right now ive looked at certain combines to get my skill up and asking peoples opinions of what u guys think is easier

    imbued idols(tunare emerald ones)-250

    planar steins-212

    opal encruseted steins-222

    Star ruby steins- 250

those 4 recipes ive looked at as recipes id probably do, i got a druid alt which can imbue emeralds and ive been looking at that option to get my skill up since it looks somewhere around 40pp per combine adding the cost of the mana vials which is cheaper then the star rubys but what do you guys think? input would be awesome

planar steins are fairly cheap to 216
    opal steins to 222
a few cruicibles, star ruby steins, faithstones and imbued star rose/amber/jade idols to 248

Not rushing to get last 2 points.

I would avoid doing too many star ruby steins as most economies cannot handle them. It isn't too expensive to do the imbued idols with cheap gems and trash them. Find a friend/buy in bazaar/make a mule to get those cheap gems imbued.

If you've got the patenience and space to store em while you wait you can theoretically skill up all the way to 250 on just the opal and star ruby steins and break even or make money during the process. Problem is there is a limited market for anything in eq and your likely to not be the only one trying to skill or make those items so you will either skill up very slowly if you only make them when you need to restock your vendor or you end up tying up alot of money and space in those items while you wait for them to sell.

Some servers report star ruby steins selling for 50pp in bazaar. At 68pp per gem, it is not very likely you will break even on this route.

Ouch. My server is still 250pp for the star ruby steins most of the time and thats what i've been making and selling mine at. Since I got past that step in the aid grimel quest I've slowly worked my way from 230 to 241 pottery doing steins and golden idols of tunare. With them going at 250 and 1k respectively I've even made some money at it altho it definitely isn't the quick route.

I'm not sure why anyone would make them to sell them at 50pp each. Given a 50% success rate as a good run your looking at at least 150pp per idol to make it and probably closer to 200. It would be cheaper to make just about any old world idol and sell them to a vendor or just destroy them.

thanks for the input guys, looked over what you said although finnancially star ruby steins arnt really the best to do because they sell for like 30-50pp per stein on the E'ci server although ive found that making imbued amber steins would be the easier road to go because they trivial at 250 and very cheap gem to buy although i just bought 231 imbued ambers in the bazaar for around 5pp each so not too bad seems a lot cheaper then the star ruby steins or the other ones so thanks for the input guys
