Got my pottery up to 235 last night on a couple of batches of SR steins. Also, based on what I've read here recently, I have started collecting bits and pieces for PoP pottery items. I think I'm about ready to make my first attempt, on the ceramic war hammer. Attempts will be rare, cuz altho I'm starting to get a little better cash flow, 1k or more is still a significant expenditure on my budget.
I've read through what I could find (admittedly not terribly good at that), but I still have a couple of questions, plus I would like to confirm that I am understanding the process correctly, as I get confused easily. I would really appreciate you experienced potters taking a look and letting me know if I have something bolluxed up before I find out the hard way.
So:
I need an Orange Diamond of War. This can be made by a L63 chanter or L64 shaman using the spell to Imbue such a diamond. I can make the spell myself by combining an Imbue Diamond spell (bought in NFP) with a war wraith blood, which is a No Fail combine.
Question: Is this spell consumed on imbueing the diamond or does the person imbueing have the spell permanently once they obtain it?
Question: One 64 shammy friend of mine was unaware he could do this and questioned whether there are some diety restrictions as to who can do which combines. I haven't seen anything mentioning that, but just to be sure: can any 64 shammy do this imbue?
Question: Is this imbue spell No Fail?
Ok, assuming now I have my Orange Diamond of War, I need a War Glaze. To make this, I combine a living coal, a war wraith blood and a glaze lacquer in a kiln. This, too, is No Fail.
Now I combine my Orange Diamond, my War Glaze, sculpting tools and Tanaan clay on a Tanaan pottery wheel. Finally, I fire the resulting (please, please, please) unfired sword with a HQ firing sheet and voila, I am done.
I apologize for being a pest, but I sure would feel better if someone confirmed I've understood this procedure correctly.
