  • Lined Vials, Cass Dishes, and Wisdom questions...

    First-time poster, long-time viewer.

I'm not really into tradeskills a whole lot. When I was about level 15, I devoted all of my time and plat getting pottery up to 135 so I could make Small Wisdom Deities. Parts for <30pp, resale value for 250+pp. Made my fortune. Had a full set of Ro armour (about 2.5 years ago, when the BP was 10k+, legs 8k+) by the time I was level 20, then kinda forgot about it.

Anyways, I recently began pottery again... Got to 148 doing Large Bowls, 157 doing Lined Vials, and 165 doing Casserole Dishes. I'm at 165 skill now...

So, my questions. I have about 100 Unfired Lined Vials in the bank... Is there any resale value on these? Can I viably sell them to rogues or vendors? Is it even worth it to fire them?

Secondly, is there a resale value on Casserole dishes? I've just been dropping them as I make them. Should I keep them, fire them, and sell them to merchants? Is it worth the extra money for the firing sheets to vendor them?

Finally, I've been doing all of this with terrible wisdom... With KEI and my "wisdom" gear on, I get to 139 wisdom... What are *really* cheap items (<100pp) I could pick up quite easily to increase my skill ups? I'm really not looking forward to the time when I have to spend 10k+ on one skill up... I'm broke enough as it is.

    Cheers,

If you know a rogue who might use them that is a great use of them, if not just toss em. They are not worth firing, since you get less for the fired vial than what the firing sheet costs. The casserole dishes however can be sold to vendors unfired.

      Poison vials

Since you've already spent the money on the lined poison vial sketches, you should probably fire them and put them for sale in the bazaar. Just remember that rogues can buy unlimited supplies of unlined vials for between 6-7pp from the poison merchants.

Knowing you are a paly and my wife has a paly she is going to skillup with I would recomend getting wis armor by the ton ie:

Velium Ruby Veil + 8 Wis
Velium Jasper Rings X2 +14 Wis
        Gold Jasper Earrings X2 + 6 Wis
Acrylia Reinforced Gorget + 8 Wis
        Acrylia Studded Cloak +10 Wis
Acrylia Studded Leggings + 4 Wis
Acrylia Studded Tunic + 8 Wis
Acrylia Studded Sleeves + 4 Wis
        Polished Bone Bracelet X2 + 6 Wis
Gauntlets of the Black + 3 Wis
Cobalt Drake Belt + 8 Wis

        Total Wis Boost 79 Points

Boots are hard but these work
Golden Efreeti Boots + 9 Wis

Get your wisdom up it is not a requirement but if you do not want to spend outrageous amounts of cash to skill up you need wisdom or int and you are a paly so boost wis.

I am doing Lined vials now with a current skill of 158. The HQ sheets cost hardly anything.

A stack sells back at 19pp and change after firing, it's worth buying 5 stack of sheets and doing a bit of trivial combining if 95pp (maybe a little less) is worth your time.

edit: Stack of HQ sheets is 8gp or so, so subtract 5pp if you like, still 90pp is hardly trash IMHO.

These are all great items and not too expensive to buy, however, if you are lucky enough to be in a guild with GM level tradeskillers who are willing to do combines if you provide the materials it gets even cheaper. I just had two Gold Jasper Earrings made for 26pp each (cost with no failues), and two Velium Japer Rings at 264pp each (again cost with no failures). Thats a boost of 20 Wis, plus 50pp for a KEI and I went from 0-145 in Pottery in about an hour. I just bought the Acrylia stuff, its not too expensive and this is my tradeskill alt so he has resources beyond his means. But you could easily have this made too. Anyway, good luck. The higher your Int/Wis the cheaper your path in the long run.

Amen. I actually find that firing the poison vials allows be to almost break even (not counting failures in making the unfired vials). As sketches are relatively expensive it's definitely worth the time to recoup some of my costs.

                Random aside:
gold Jasper Earrings made for 26pp each (cost with no failues),
Hrn? Last time I looked, a bar of gold was 10 plat, and a jasper was like 7 gold. Your guildmate is gypping you!
