• maximum possible chance of combine success

Given a potter with 250 skill, are there any increases in success chance from any of the following: (please say if you've logged a large number of combines and seen a statistically significant difference - I know that's not practical given the lack of nontrivial 250 combine components):

    * AA (is there one like jewelcraftmastery for chanters that reduces failure chances?)

    * GM trophy (does the +10% skill get capped at 250, 252, 255, or other?)

    * stat buffs (I've heard that only wis/int help, and only for skillups, not success rate)

1)As of yet there is no AA similiar to the Jewelcraft Mastery

2)The 5% of the GM trophy/geerlok apparently caps at 252(some say 255 but I'm not sure if enough combines have been done in succession at 240 with geerlok(effective 252) versus 243 with geerlok(effective 255) I don't know how likely you'd be able to measure such as the number of combines to get truly valid data would most likely result in a skill up) to compare these claims

3)No data, besides "I load up on shammy buffs" -quotes and other wives' tales suggest that the equation looks at anything aside from your modified skill when plugging the variables into the ENG(Evil Number Generator).

      Thank you - that's what I thought =(

If it helps, rogue backstab is exactly identical with 225+12%=252 and 225+15% > 255 (skill determines max dmg, so this is 100% certain)

So, why do people bother raising their natural skill above 243?

well now that the question has been answered to your liking...your next question's answer is two fold

1)It happens...given enough time doing non trivial combines for sale/guildies....what have you you will eventually get 250 skill regardless

2)pride....I feel good being able to say I am an unmodified 250 baker...the fact that the spoon is only an extra 2% is just icing on the cake I decided that I didn't want to ever say to someone that I have skill 245, but since I have the spoon it's LIKE 252, just less hassle, my wrist was numb from a marathon session anyway what was 5 extra points....Nothing against people that have 243 and a 5% mod saying they're gm's, they are, just haven't finished the skill progression yet
