Golden Idol Trivial

After making enough casserole dishes to supply both Wal-Mart and Target (skill level 199), I decided to try making some golden idols to pay for those dishes. So I went to Permafrost and went on a Icy Goblin rampage in the hopes of making bunch of divine glaze. The very first combine for the golden idol of Tunare poof I got a skill point and have had great luck making these. However, I have tried making some other deity idols with no luck at all (0 for 8). There are a limited amount of imbued gems in the bazaar but I have chosen the ones that EQ Trader and Allakhazam.com listed as <=240 not <=250. Is this data correct or is it just my bum luck? A better question might be what are some of your experiences with making golden idols?

Popular wisdom seems to be that the Tunare idols trivial somewhere around 240, whereas the rest of the are "off the charts" somewhere above 252. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me, but hey. At least I can supply my guild with these things.
