  • Another most likely dumb question..

Ok I understand that to get the charm patterns you get 20 in each cultural pattern backpack set that you make.... after you have the appropriate skill in smithing/tailoring/ and maybe tinkering?

Well my question is if you are a potter with around 290 skill and no smithing or tailoring skill whatsoever, is there a way for you to get the book to make the symbols? My assumption used to be that you did the cultural symbol quest appropriate to your level. With the new cultural system and the book vendors in PoK and the likes, is it done a different way? Or is there a vendor in PoK that will sell what you need?

I was trying to help a friend look and I have no pottery skill myself so I could not see all that the vendors had to offer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The charm patterns are created from the appropriate augment pattern combine. So you can do the quest with zero smithing and tailoring, make some patterns, and only use the charm ones if you want to.

Ok so you still have to do the quest, correct?

Yes, you have to do the symbols quest (the one that requires killing 40/20 and getting impressions) to get the charm patterns.
