  • Number of combines to max trophy?

How many combines does it take to get the pottery trophy from 6 to 7? Is it the 1000 combines that I expect?

I am trying to estimate the cost of doing pottery if I do star ruby steins to get from 276 to 300, and then to max the trophy. It will probably take 400 to 500 combines to get to 300, and if the trophy is 1000 combines thats 1500 more.

    1500 x star ruby = full year's plat earnings

This is not something I look forward to. I looked at the DoN recipes with the foraged Air-Infused Spring Water, but my druid with 2 levels of the foraging AA is getting 1 water every 4 hours, which is still better than the rate for scale ore.

Yeah, pottery is a stinker, not only is it expensive to max, but there's nothing useful worth making with it. I'm at 276 pottery now and getting 1 skill up every 30 combines on average. 30 combines * 24 skillups * 75 pp per combine = 54,000 pp just to hit 300. That's a lowball estimate because the combines per skillup will increase as I get closer to 300.

I don't see any urgent need to max out the trophy though. I don't think any pottery combine trivials over 335, so a 12% trophy will give the same success rate as a 15% trophy. Just donate the steins as tribute and turn tribute on when you need it, that way you'll get something for the effort.

LOL, I have never used tribute, ever, because I am lazy and poor.

1 skill up per 30 combines though? That sounds like my smithing and tailoring progress I did a run of Tunare idols from 222 to 276, and averaged 3 skill ups per 50 combines. On the other hand, my jewelcraft is averaging 1 skill per 80 combines.

Also, the grandmaster charms trivial far over 335, but there isn't any reason to ever make one, so no big loss not maxing the trophy.
