  • Benefit of cultural charms?

Is there a hidden benefit to cultural charms that I am missing? They seem particularly difficult in terms of ingredients (at least at the GM level) and then I see they only have one slot (a slot 7 at that) so that unlike Gm cultural armor -- which has good appeal among raiders b/c of Last Bloods and Bazu Seals and such -- it seems like the charms are less good than a lot of other options, including DoN crystal-purchased charms with 2 slots.

Am I missing something cool about them?

Yeah, the return on investment to make one of those is rather poor, particularly since you can get an augment from the DoN camps that is significantly better (higher stats and two aug slots) for a lower cost (crystals being way cheaper than a combination of metallic drake scales, glossy drake hides, and coarse spider silk).

Oh well, I guess there is value in having the ability to get a complete set. It's be nice if they added something like "grows in power the more cultural armor you wear" like the bazu and metallic charms and such.

Actually, that's exactly what the cultural charms are. They gain in power as you equip more cultural armor. If you equip a full suit of the same level as the charm, you get 100% power (e.g., a full suit of Master's with a Master's charm). If you equip higher level armor, you get higher stats (e.g., GM armor with a Master charm). The problem is that when wearing top of the line gear (full suit of GM armor with a GM charm), the stats are still below a charm that is far less difficult to obtain (from DON crystal merchants).

Oh, gross! So you mean those meager stats shown are at FULL power? That's even worse than i thought it was then, since even the hardest core raiders I know only have two or three pieces of cultural, plus bazu/last blood stuff.

My Vah Shir berserker is wearing full GM gear, complete with GM augs (not sure if the augs are part of the calc for the charm). He has a Master charm on, and its giving him something like 72 HP (higher than the max for Master gear with the Master charm).

For the low price I paid its not that bad, at least not the master version. The Grandmaster version, if I could find it, would be better - but nowhere near better enough to justify the cost. I SSOOOOO can't wait to get my berserker the Freeport Arena charm ...
