Apprentis Potters Trophy???

Man this stinks for the Apprentis trophy you need to make 2 Unfires Ceramic Bola Weights, which require 1 each of Clump Of Refined Taelosian Clay. There is a Quest to get 2 with a turn in of Chunk Of Broken Taelosian Stone Worker
, however you need to go to Tipt or Vxed to get them, and that is a little tough for some people...like me.../grin. I checked the Bazaar and found two for 2500pp per, ouchies.

Heh, I ran into the same issue with my baby rogue. It appears the same clay is needed for a step of the druid epic 1.5. One guy claimed that the average price per piece was 20K. I laughed in his face. I later found a piece for 1K in the baz, and I'm pretty sure I could have gotten it for less if I'd chosen to bargain.

some people abuse the fact of the trophies and sell things for insane prices. Same with nest drake meat, I started my baking trophy more or less within an hour of EQ being back up (after PoR update) and bought one for 100PP in baz now they go for another between 3 and 8K each.

Same with the rawhide gorget. I got 3 of those and only give them away, not putting them on trader so some smart waffle buys them and then wacks a 5K price tag on them

True but the character I am trying to get this trophy on is only 34 and no way near enough level to go to these zones and get the items himself. I thought that for the trophys you wold not have to go to flagged or instanced zones or even keyed zones I guess I was wrong.

I think the forum ogre mentioned that this is going to change soon with a patch... *looks for confirmation from someone* ..at least thats what this non native speaker understood that items from keyed zones will be changed

Technically, Vxed isn't keyed any more; anyone can get in there. It's an expedition, though, so it is an instanced zone. And anyone under 60 or under-equipped will probably die pretty quickly in there.

Having said that, if Ngreth does decide to change it, there are several other items around that trivial range, give or take a few points.

Yeah I wouldn't mind some other combine around that skill level, just thought it was wierd having to get a drop from a zone like those. Course with all the changes that Ngreth and others had to keep up with I am not surprised that we dont have harder stuff to get...lol

On a side note about the Bola weights, the recipie returns 3 bola weights, not just one, so you should only need one clump of clay.

Wow not mush that can be done with the GoD combines or DoD or DoN or much even with OoW...

there is a higher Triv PoR combine it is 87 triv...

not sure if you would like either of those choices as one is used in Alchemy and the other is going to take a skill up in Jewlery to 110 to make...

Well, unfired deity and aerated pot shell are both trivial 68, though both are totally store bought. Dunno if you want to have a dropped item for this recipe.

I was just trying to find something that would work a dropped item is ok if obtainable for the appropriate level, course just what that level is could be debated...lol. However those would work too, I guess all we can do is wait to see...lol

This reply comes after the most recent patch (April 19th).

The patch message mentioned that some of the tradeskills trophies requirements were altered. Rejoice! I logged in as quickly as I could. The last thing left on my Appretice Potter's Trophy was the bolas, as I couldn't find the dropped component over the passed several days.

Long and short was that the bolas were still on my task list, but now, instead of needing to make 2, I need to make 6. Yikes!

Is this intentional (I was reading above that one combine returns 3 bolas) or the biproduct of some glitch when the bola part of the task was reassigned a new item to make?

There's no change; the bola combine yields three. Your task step should still read 0/2, but since each combine yields three bolas, two combines gives you six -- hence the new wording of that step.

I have all the tasks complete except for the Bolas. If I continue to get skillups in pottery, when I do manage to get this done, what happens to the trophy? Will it be evolved to my level of skill?
