i must be doing something wrong

very quick and simple, im trying to hurry and get at least a 50 skill in pottery so ive recently tried doing combines for a small bowl, however, when i try to combine on pottery wheel, or even a kiln (just to see whether or not it would work) all i get is a message that these items either dont combine or dont go together in the container, something to that effect.

Something is wrong, Im following the reciepe to the "T", small block of clay, bowl sketch, high quality firing sheet, water flask, but nothing, so if I am just silly and am over looking something important, which I am sure I am, if someone would be so kind as to feel me in. . . that would be great.

That's your problem, the HQ Fireing sheet is not part of the recipe for the Bowl, it's used to fired the UNfired bowl into the final bowl. And if you are just skilling up, DON'T FIRE ANYTHING! You will just loss tons of plat. Items sell for nothing, just drop or destroy.
