  • So any pottery reviews from OoW beta?

Not asking for recipes or even what kind of items, just wanting to hear if pottery got any nifty recipes.

I know I sound like a broken record, but I think the last I checked pottery had one new recipe (ceramic bolo weights) since 2002 besides the GoD training recipes and the two GoD quest trivial combines. Yep tinkering, alchemy, poison making, AND BREWING need help but everyone forgets about pottery.

Please someone tell me that pottery got a boon in this expansion.

You got some, but not much.

I know it was tested, but I did not test myself.

I will let you see it when it comes out though, since I did not test it myself, so I do not know much about it.

That would not make for happy potters... especially since Focus V items and the port for all classes just made our 2 major lines of items (portstones and focus IV items) comparatively worthless.

Even if there are only a few items, hopefully they are exciting

The port is only going to help those who are high enough level (and who haven't blown their hometown faction). Since most characters aren't near the max level, that business shouldn't be hugely impacted.

Origin (personal homecity portal) is also a 1 hour and x min refresh timer, so its not really a port per say. Its a once or twice a night deal, not something you can use as an extra bind point.

Faithstones didnt destroy Norrath, so I am pretty sure Origin wont do diddly to diminish anyones fun (or profit).

Well, I'm not going to preach doom and gloom, because I'm a big proponent of wait and see what happens, but I think since portstones are also only to the home city, and only for 51+, there's only a very small window of time in which they would be of use (16 levels). And it's not like people are constantly clicking portstones, where the one hour re-use timer on origin would make the portstone that much more useful.

But, your right, it won't totally kill the market; but I do think there will be a reduction in what is already a pretty slight profit margin on the stones.

Bah ... while I was skilling up pottery, I made one of each of those portstones (after many, many expensive failed attempts). Put them on vendor, and after 6 months I gave up and turned half of them in for the tribute points. Unless it is a favor for a very dear friend, I would be most happy to never attempt one again.

                That's too bad

I was hoping maybe the pottery would have something interesting. So far nothing inclines me to this expansion.

My computer is down and I haven't repaired it yet, plus I haven't got a copy of OoW yet either, but from what I have heard, there are a few pottery recipes for player-made charms.

Now get out there and find em! discovering the recipes is all part of the fun, anyways!

To give you folks a nudge in the right direction, this is from the new vendor-sold tailoring book.

One more thing! I've heard that someone if making these cute little charms that go with our armor! Isn't that nice! I hear they make them using some of the same items that go into the armor and that there is some sort of resonance that happens when you have a lot of armor on. I don't understand it all, but it's nice of them to make such a nice accessory!
For a full copy of the text (including the items that go into the armor, see this post: http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=18043 )

Folks told us that they wanted to try to figure things out for themselves this time, instead of us just posting all the recipes that we have ... but looking at this hint, and at the recipes, I think you're going to get frustrated quickly, so I'll start you off with a hint. If you get ready to pull out your hair after trying stuff, let me know, and I'll give out the full recipes.

I'd try a mixing a couple ingredients from the armor listing, a flask of water, and also toss in a clump of refined ancient taelosian clay (discord is old and powerful, after all, and common clay isn't going to cut the mustard)
