  • Shar Vahl Progressive Pottery Quest

When Luclin came out, I was all happy because there were quests that I could do at low level that used tradeskills. After all this time, I decided to roll up a newbie rogue and look into finishing some of the quests finally .

Looking at the progressive pottery quest, the ending kind of leaves you hanging. According to the writeup here the last step directs you to see Grilo the mason. Has anybody ever found him? Does he exist? Will he ever exist??

You walk into a room in which there are three primates: a chimpanzee, an orangutan, and a gorilla. The chimpanzee is holding a banana in each hand, the orangutan is holding a big stick, and the gorilla is holding nothing. Which primate in the room is the smartest?

I've been looking for Grilo for nearly 2 years. I don't believe he ever existed and probably never will.

SOE seems very reluctant to revisit old expansions and fix things that only affect a handful of players. I can understand it with all the things that scream for attention they just don't have the time but it's still disappointing.

/feedback might help but don't hold your breath.

BTW Can you still lose your runequills on a failure making the brehad figurines?

Is Quest broken? Or it it me?

I keep getting plain Finished Vah Shir Figurines, and losing runequill set, when using the recipe for the runed ones. The GM says he canna tell me anything.
Is this normal for the first few dozen tries or so? My pottery skill is 140 or so.
      Thanks!

That's what happens when you fail at the final combine. I guess they haven't fixed that yet. The trivial on the figurines is pretty high. I was at 188-190 skill when I finished the quest and had no failures on the combines. I would suggest you get your skill up a little more before trying again.

You could probably force your way through at 140 skill but failures are costly since you have to replace the runequills. It's easier to raise pottery to 199.

knowing my luck, if he's out there somewhere, he's not on find in that zone.

This quest, along with the person in Katta Castellum who refers to mining supplies, leads me to think that once upon a time they had a plan to introduce some kind of stoneworking tradeskill that never went anywhere. Maybe something that used the plethora of useless gems/minerals that you pick up all over the moon? Who knows.

Lots of trackers have been looking for Grilo since Luclin came out - no luck whatsoever. Hmm maybe Grilo is the Vah Shir word for "nyah nyah" or something.
