I know you are past vials but as a additional note on sources of pelts if you don't have access to Gates, a run through the vendors of East Commonlands used to net me a stack or so Black Wolf and Puma pelts/skins which are frequently overlooked for making vials.

I also used to park a toon in the sewers of West Freeport down past the PoK book. I would log that character first and last and would get quite a few zombie skins that way.

Could I skill up on vials (188 triv) w/ a pottery skill of 1?

Yes you can, but it wouldn't benefit you. You get more skil-ups with successes not failures, and with that low of a skill you would get many, many failures. You would also waste a ton of zombie skin unless you're using Crow's recipe. The bowl route is so inexpensive and easy, no firing, I don't see any other feasable way to do it.

GoD isn't necessary, Crow's Special Brew can also be bought in Qeynos.

You walk into a room in which there are three primates: a chimpanzee, an orangutan, and a gorilla. The chimpanzee is holding a banana in each hand, the orangutan is holding a big stick, and the gorilla is holding nothing. Which primate in the room is the smartest?
