The planar peridot and Start ruby encrusted steins are used in quests, perhaps that has a bearing on their tribute value.

        Silly question

Do the Idols or steins or what ever need to be fired to turn in for tribute points? I have not been dealing with the tribute system and with the 100s of unfired idols I am dropping on the ground to grind to 250 it would be nice to know if I can salvage something out of the deal.

        Thank you

You do need to fire them to use them for tributes. Good for steins and bands as it it is a very minor inconvienence to get some value out of stuff you would just trash. It is bad for idols/crucibles unless you have tons of divine/misty glaze for them and want to waste it.

For some reason I thought that when they assigned the tribute values originally, they based it on what a vendor would sell the item for (anything used for quests usually has a much higher resell value - EQ vendors are notorious for gouging) and for stats on the item (which is what caused the trouble with skill bonuses on bait.)
