I just did a run of star ruby steins at skill 220 with a geerlok and succeeded only 2 out of 20 attempts. This is by far the worst star ruby stein attempt run I have ever done...I usually get at least a 1/3 success ratio. I also accidentally had my geerlok in for one of my opal stein attempts (these regular steins...not planar steins) and it didn't give me a trivial message. Anyone else notice problems with the geerloks? Could they be bugged or am I just having a terrible streak of luck?

Geerlocks (and other % mod items) will raise your skill, but not change the trival on an item which is a good thing. If an item is trivial at 210 and you have 205 skill, you have 215 skill with the geerlock. However, you will still be able to get skill ups while using the geerlock.
I'd guess you just had some bad luck.

Actually, I've noticed something very bad. I am a 250 jeweler, who is currently working pottery, so I am making tons of lacquered gems. I always use my jewelry geerlok on these mass combines even when trivial to try to keep costs down.
Over the course of making 250 or so lacquered gems, I noticed I was getting a 10% fail rate (2 fails per stack), instead of the 5% I was expecting. It was very consistent.
So I ditched the geerlok, and over the next 200 or so lacquered gems I was back to the 5% fail rate I expected.
I think something is definitely wrong.

Hmm, had a similar thing happen yesturday. Using my geerlok I failed 2 out of 10 ceramic linings. However when I switched out my geerlok I went 6 for 6 on pie tins and pots. I just thought I had a bit of the RNG problem at first but maybe not?Come on guys, one more pull. What is the worst that could happen?
