Haven't tried it on my main yet (81 paladin), but noticed pretty much the same thing on my enchanter (56). Patch notes mentioned they were changing it so poison procs at level of poison, not caster, so for Spider's Bite VI, that would be level 40. Was soloing mobs in Innovation last night on the enchanter, vast majority of procs were resisted; saw a couple partial damage procs, no full damage.

I suppose that makes sense--a level 40 would expect most casts on something 10+ levels higher to be resisted more often than not--but renders the poisons useless unless you've got access to level appropriate ones. And my rogue buddy tells me that drops for higher level ones are far to rare to make in any real quantity.

Found out about the message in patch also. Makes poison making pretty useless again. (

I believe they might be looking into the drop rates or something at least, but the 80th spider poison worked great in Tosk. I'm saving what I have now for special occations. With the current rates, you'll use quite a few poisons before seeing a drop required to make one.

Correct. had one refined nigriventer drop yesterday in 3 hours. average use of poison is about 35 mins.

yea, I haven't seen many nigriventor drops. And my guildie was saying that the low ones I made were being resisted.

In bazaar, level 60 nigriventer was starting at 350 pp each on CT

Nigriventor drops a good bit from spiders. Vald pit is a good source, especially as it is hotzone now.

This does not at all make poison useless. We are still getting very cheap 6k procs. We gat good agro reducers, though they are off dropped stuff, they are still available, and fairly farmable, at least the level 70 stuff which works ok. We get a decend slow, for when we need to solo things. Not really an exp tool, but for quest it can save you getting additional help.

For everyone else, yes poisosn are pretty uselees again, except as and additional leveling tool at lower levels. That wont affect anyone who can box for PL, but for others its a good help.

Well, hate modification effects are always applied whether the attack is resisted or not. So the Scorpion's Agony and Quellious Trauma lines of poisons are pretty much unaffected by this patch.

Scorpion's Agony will still generate hate. The hate modification component of it is always applied whether the proc is resisted or not. Additionally, the same amount of hate is applied for the DD component even though the damage is resisted. The only thing that is lost is the additional DPS when you use a level 40 proc on a level 85 mob.

The same is true with the rogue only hate shedding poison. Resisted or not, the hate reduction will still take place.

The nigriventer venoms for level 60 can be farmed reasonably well in the Ascent. Both types of spiders can drop them, though I had a better drop rate in the lower half of the Ascent , might be to sheer number of spiers there too.

Nigriventer and gormar for level 65 can be farmed in the HIVE. As well as all FRESH herbs

Edit to add:
Gormar venom for level 70 (Refined grade AA) can also be looted in the hive, and fine herbs. gotta go deep into the second obelisk, and out onto the living bridges area.
