  • Evaluating Current Poisons

First off, this is NOT so that I can change current poisons, but to get a good survey of what is already here. Yes this is in preparation for a revamp, but it is just the beginning stages and research. I still have no actual time-lines to give you. Also for now I am not looking for what to do with poison or these poisons, I am just gathering data. I just want to be as sure as I can that I have complete data.

I am also just looking for actual poison recipes that make poisons, not other things like extracts and augments made using the poison skill.

Is there anything missing form the list bellow? This is the list I found of recipes to make poisons in game. (this is recipes... not actual poisons so I expect that some duplication in this list.)

Ok, off top of my head, a few things that should be considered on this.

    1) Sonic Bane Poison (uses baking instead of poison making ?!!?)
    2) Distilled Muramite Blood/Bile (no use in game - Abysmal Sea quests)
    3) Marble Mortar and Pestle (no recipe uses 10 slots - waste of container considering difficulty)
    4) Coffin Bottle (I've seen your post - got some ideas below)
    5) Grandmaster Assassin Seal (same)

Now, to address some of these in more detail.

    2) Muramite conversion from AS needs to have a use. (We were told it would be looked at and added later down the road at GoDs addition). Basically add recipes using the components. Problem solved and gives purpose.

    3) Add recipes requiring up to 10 slots. Problem solved and gives purpose.

4-5) I am aware this is a problem area trying to find a solution that doesn't short change rogues or give them an unnecessary edge.

    a) Clicky effect that summons a unique or random nodrop item used in recipes (similiar to how master sketch is used, but consumed). Perhaps a specialized vial?
    b) Focus effect on seal that does improved poison damage, lowers resist chance on poison, or even does regeant conversation (has a chance to not use poison when applied).
    c) Personally, I am against just an AA if you complete it. It removes anything special about the item, as at that point, it isn't anything more then a watered down tradeskill trophy, except it cost a lot more to make in time, money, and effort.

      .
While I am willing... I have some concerns.

Where is this blood gotten from... just muramites?

If so, there is not really a good place for me to spread it outside the expansion (though i guess I could give any rogue NPC a chance to drop it, but that would not necessarily give a good spread) and with those expansions being less and less used it would make it more and more difficult to get the blood.

So my basic worry is that it may be too late. For some specialized poisons, probably as long as rogues did not feel cheated that it was so difficult to get.

It only dropped from Muramite mobs in GoD and OoW. Nocs, kyvs, ukuns, etc. -- the soldiers of the Tunat'Muram and Mata Muram's army. It didn't drop from other mobs in those expansions, like Taelosians in GoD or bazu or murkgliders in Omens.

Even though I do not do poison and have not read extensively on the subject, I suggest that the bane of tradskills is a tiny container. Leaving a container with unused space without complicating the recipe sounds just fine to me.

Hello Ngreth, great to read that poisons are still a topic I have checked your list:
            • All buff type poisons in game are listed
            • I have not verified all the one shot poisons but I will do that asap
            • You have additionally listed a few items that are not poison recipes that will yield a poison as result:
              • Crows Special Brew > sold item, but can't be created, not a recipe
              • Grandmaster Assassin's Vial > quest piece, not a poison recipe
              • Amber Resin > subcombine for poisons
              • Drop of Mercury > subcombine for poisons
              • Celestial Suspension > subcombine for poisons

As attachment I have added some useful listings for buff type poisons. The file includes an alphabetic list with era/tier, type and # of recipes as well as a list sorted by poison line type (DD, DoT, slow, snare, and so on). I should have a similar list for one shot poisons, I will try to find it.

The muramite blood and bile has the same drop rate as the taelsoian sludge that alchemists use for a select list of potions. It should be given the same treatment.

For example: formed suspension of toxin viii

In fact, allowing for a similiar form of recipes using it... it won't be overpowering, will be out of the mainstream line of poisons... and will add a new toy for playing with.

I have no problems at all using it

I just don;t want to tie it to a "main path"

I have verified the rest of the posted list:
                  • All known one shot poisons in game are listed.
                  • Few more items from the list are not direct usable poisons:
                    • White Lead > subcombine for poisons
                    • Lead Peroxide > subcombine for poisons
                    • Iron Sulphide > subcombine for poisons
                    • Quicksilver > subcombine for poisons
                    • Bite of the Ikaav - this is a poison but in fact a quest piece for the Rogue Epic 1.5: Fatestealer. It's not a poison someone would apply and use.

So the posted list is complete.
