  • Raising make poison & it's lvl limits

I have a few questsions. Is make poison limited by lvl like melee / casting abilities or is it open to 250 like tradeskills? Also, if you have the training points and plat to burn, will Stanos still train you to 250? What is the actual limit if you have the trophy, gloves, or other focus items - 252 like other tradeskills?

Is make poison limited by lvl like melee / casting abilities or is it open to 250 like tradeskills? It's limited by level. I believe the formula is (Level - 15) * 5.

Also, if you have the training points and plat to burn, will Stanos still train you to 250? Yes, of course, you can only train up to your level cap.

What is the actual limit if you have the trophy, gloves, or other focus items - 252 like other tradeskills? I believe it's 252. You'll max out the skill when you hit 240 and have a geerlok (or other 5% skill item.)

all of those answers are correct, Training with stanos from 220 or so will actually cost you about the same as actually getting the skill up's.

BTW - having poison making above 200 does not count against other tradeskills.

For example, if you're a GM baker (250) you can also raise poison making above 200 without using any AAs.

Humm. I also believe it is limited by level but that formula is not correct. My Rogue is 48 and at 200. However, after a session of 79 combines with no skill ups (EQ calculator estimated a rate of 4.14%) I must believe she is stuck there until she reaches some future unknown level before she can progress farther. Sure wish I knew what that level will be.

you're stuck at skill 200 until level 51, at which point max level increases by 5 points per level, until level 60 when 250 is reached.

                quick question

outside of the GM vial/seal, is there any need to get over 200 skill for poison? granted i know next to nothing about posion as my rogue is only 100 skill or so but it seems as fast as it is to raise and easy to get store bought ingredients any poison could be made fairly easily and cheaply at skill 20

Some of the better poisons are not store bought though

The OOW aug combine's can be worth it if you have the mean's to come by the harder to come by component's

He could attempt them, would be well below trivial though. He is capped at what, 125? And the augs bouce around the high 200s depending on what step you are doing.

Update. I'm pretty sure they ixnay-ed (removed) the level caps on class related tradeskills with DoN.

                              Level caps were removed.
Being able to train make poison at every trainer was removed, specifically to remove the Stanos training sploit (in my opinion, if you had the faction to spawn the guy, you should have been able to train).
When the trainers remember their skill (after the next patch or so), you will only be able to train up to 20/21 in make poison.

Yurien, Dranik's Scar mobs can drop augments (and the parts), but they are extremely rare. Mobs should be dark blue at your level, they are green to a level 66. If the mob is red, is a dragorn, and /cons glaring, it is a quest npc (you need warmly or ally to get armor quests from them). There are a couple rare pops that range up to level 68. Mobs assist each other. And I think they hit pretty hard for their level. A little tougher than Maiden's Eye mobs, if those are easy to solo, go for it.
