  • Does this make sense?

Ever since eq came out and poisons were added many complained about how it was too expensive and not worth building skill on poisons that 1) don't stay on blade if you zone or go LD, 2) can be resisted and 3) costed about 20pp to make..that was too expensive? but now with the omens expansion people are trying to sell ONE ingredient for 5k?? lol now THAT's a reason to not bother with anymore poison making....why bother paying that much on something that could get resisted anyway repeatedly?

maybe there's something to these new poisons i don't know about and are worth that price..can anyone explain?

is probably a component that is needed to make the new poison for the new rogue epics.

No, these are regular poison ingredients completely unrelated to the epic. People are just being greedy. Normally, I would be a big contributor to poison data, but without being able to get ahold of ingredients, it's been severely limiting me.

        Makes Sense?

Actually, Turlow Sony listened to us. They Decided to Change some of the Poisons around Starting with Planes of Power. With Planes of Power instead of Old World Poison using the Apply skill and it going off on the First hit, it "Buffs" you with a Poison Proc that can go off randomly in the middle of a fight. These procs are Resisted a Lot Less The "buff" last for 10 mins Usually, and there are Even AA"s to increase the Proc Rate.

/chuckle. I just realized I only answered question 3. Yes, I am familiar with how the poisons work, both pre and post PoP. I was the individual responsible for finding the exact trivial on Basilisk Poison when it was first introduced.

Some additional info. Old World poisons, you apply to your blade for one use. It disappears if you zone or log. However, it automatically goes off on the first piercing hit you make. Backstab does not count. It also stacks with a PoP Proc type poison.

AAs can allow you to crit with poisons, extend duration, increase proc rate, etc. Fun stuff. However, I wouldn't recommend going to bazaar to make your Omens poisons.

No. It does not make sense.

It is possible that the ingreadiant you seek is used somewhere else. Sony seems to delight in giving some items multiple uses in unrelated tradeskills while making other items totally useless. I have tried to buy the poison ingredients from NPC vendors and it seems at least one component for each new poison is priced around 100pp or more. This also makes it unreasonable to make the new poisons unless they are truly remarkable.
