  • I got bored last night (Newbie Data Enclosed)

I was bored last night, so I decided to see how far I could get in JC.

I parked in PoK, and didnt enchant anything. Started at 0.

    100 plat later, I hit 48.
    100 plat later, I hit 97
50 plat later, I was 110, and decided to call it a night.

So, If anyone cares, with 255 WIS , and 107 CHA, 250 plat got me to 110.

Not bad for an hour or so, huh?

From the logs I've seen (including my own), jewelry, like many trade skills, is dirt cheap to get to master (>101). At 110, you're still on electrum, so thats pretty cheap.

      Updated.

50 plat got me from 110-119.

I then bought 120 Gold Bars, and had a friend Enchant them.

Made 120 Combines in the giat gap from 119-146, Got to 143 skill, and it cost 400p.

So the total cost from 0-143 is 700p.

Is anyone finding this data interesting, or should I stop?

Are you selling successes back to the vendor and using this money to buy more supplies, or is the 700p just the original expense costs?

I also am looking at raising my jewelcraft skill from its current level of 0, and am interested in how much it will cost me to get to Shawl attempt levels.

              Yay

I think this is a fantastic thread for all those non-chanter types out there. Almost all of these reports until this one (including my own) have been from people enchanting some or all of their material.

              Keep it up.

But Lilosh did say that he/she bought 120 gold bars and had a chanter friend enchant them, so it really isn' that different from a chanter making a post.

just FYI...I recently hit 250. Enchanting about 50% of the time, it cost me around 4k to get from 201 to 250. Int is around 230 buffed, with CHA at 207.

your doing good so far on that JC however you will soon see the skill ups drop dramatically as the price per fail moves up to 100pp or so. It can get very frustrating so just keep up with it and save your pp.. youll need. Good luck

                      Hmmm...

Lilosh, I know you've been around tradeskills for awhile.... but are you using a geerlok? If you are trying to save some platt, then a geerlok (to me atleast) is a must have. Especially when you get to the 100pp+ per combine skill levels.... You can pick one up in the bazaar for 50-150pp on my server right now.

                      (Thats right, its MY server.)

                        1) I am selling back ALL successes.

                        2) When I moved to Gold at 119, I bought a geerlok. I did not include the cost of the geerlok in my total cost.

                        3) Yes, I Had my 120 bars enchanted. I was always told Dont bother enchanting Silver and Electrum, But Enchant from Gold up.

                        4) I dont know how far I plan on going. 150? 200 At the very most. Depends on how much I can bother my enchanter friend. I was just tired of having 0 JC, and was VERY VERY bored one night.

                        I'll keep you all updated.

It cost my chanter 15-18k to get to 250. She din't enchant anything(she is level 16) and had crappy int till I twinked her up to 210. I wanted a char to make gem encrusted chains for my tailor. Yes I spent a lot for the chanter to get to 250 but when I level her up then she came enchant the metals and make jewelry to sell.

wow. I must have just had a couple really bad runs.

                            I got from 189 - 205 for about 4kpp... not enchanting... 250wis 190 int, 90 cha

Then I parked my chanter twink, and enchanted 5 stacks of gold, 2 stacks of plat (9kpp)

After 140 combines, 190int, 250wis, 90cha,... I was out a net cost of about 5kpp, and ZERO skillups. NONE.. still 205.

I about threw my computer down the stairs.

The only thing that saved it was I have had worse runs during tailoring. sigh.

My record is 210 combines with no skillups.
