Gem studded chain question

I am in the process of making a GM jeweller out of my enchanter (got her to 202 relatively easily last night, even with a few 80+-combines-per-skillup levels) for the purpose of making gem-studded chains for my halfling tailor. I plan to get Eliste, my enchanter, up to 250 jewelcraft before I attempt making chains.

What is the expected failure rate on these puppies at 250 skill in jewelcraft?

PS. My enchanter is only level 24 (got her to 255 INT with twinking and stat food) and I'm not that interested in playing her all that much, so it's very unlikely I'll get JC AAs for her. I'll probably get more levels on her simply as a support for my other tradeskills, but I've never really gotten into her. We have no other enchanters in my guild who have high level JC.

Consensus seems to be 40-50% success at 250 JC without any AA JCM.

Yes, expect roughly 40-50% successes. Luck is a factor of course.

So, net, this means it will cost you 500 plat per GSC, whereas it will cost a chanter with AA only 250.

This is a pain point for me. My chanter can't make chains for the price that Solstice robes are going for on my server until she gets her AA's! /sigh

Ah well, back to selling a few velium jasper rings.

Unfortunately the time is long past when making Solstice robes could pay for itself - this is true for all the potc gifts now that pretty much everyone has their earring(s).

Studded Gems

I am working on these atm, not so much for profit but for skill ups for Tailoring. I am a 65 Druid with 5 tradeskills at 210 or higher with GM in Baking and JC. I am going after the Tradeskill Earring.

It costs me about 250pp to make and so far trivial has been around 50% with the GM Trophy. I am looking for something else to try to get Tailoring up that is cheaper, but I am having a hard time mostly do to the mobs I need are lvl 30's and they are constantly camped by players lvl'n.

As for making profit off these, I haven't really tried. So far I have 4 items from the earrings available:

Demi Sec Champagne goes for about 65pp
Golden Idol of Tunare goes for bout 750pp
Misty Thicket Picnic for bout 10p
Ceremonial Solstice Robes for about 375.

I have seen these occasionally in the bazaar for a pretty good price. You might check there every now and then.
