I am at 198 and the 190's have been hell. When does this end? Is there any cheaper/better combines to do then gold/star ruby/fire emerald/saphhire/ruby. The failure rate is approx 7-10% even though I am over the trivial with my geerlock. Any helpful suggestions or do I just have to keep grinding it out. When will the hell levels end?

Hell levels go til about 220. Best thing you can do is to make up the lowest trivial item per the chart.Tinile, 85th Druid of the Seventh Hammer

I just went from 198 to 211 last night. Was doing gold fire emer/sapphire/ruby painfully up to to 206 then decided to jump to plat and even though my triv was worse my failures went down drastically. Working with the gold/ruby I was running around 7% failure and it dropped to about 4% with plat/malacite. I can't explain why but I probably did 200+ combines with the plat and actually starting recouping lost pp. Getting one skill up per 2 stacks on average.
It took me over 300 combines to go from 198 to 200, but it starting getting better from there, though still not nice.
FYI was 255 INT/201 DEX/162 WIS and using geerlok.
