  • Success rates or valorium rings/bloodmetal earrings

i have started to collect pieces for these, and currently have the ingrediants for 1 valorium ring and all but the highly polished gem for the bloodmetal earring, i am not a jewler, so i was wondering what is the approx. success rate on these 2 items with 250skill+geerlock? asking cause it wouldn't really be cost effective to pay 15k for a highly polished gem if there is only like a 10% ratio and the finished earrings are 25k

I have 250 JC & geerlock, and I'm a cleric. I get about 50% success rate which sucks IMO. An Enc guildmate has the 3 aa levels of JC mastery, which is unbalanced IMO, and gets about 98% success rate. The highly polished gems are hard to come by, as are the items from the elemental planes so I don't even use my JC skill other then for the Aid Grimel quest. Yes I am very bitter about the aa tradeskill mastery only for a certain class.

yeah, i know what you mean, as a melee i find it irritating that most tradeskills are int/wis based and i will never be able to get anywhere near my wizzy friend 305 int, just wondering though, you were talking about bloodmetal right? i am hoping the valoriums are a bit easier

From what I hear, all the PoP JC combines have about a 50% success rate at 250 skill without JCM. With JCM3, failures are fairly rare.

I've done around 20-30 combines (or more accurately, I've had several 250 jewelers, with and without JCM, perform the combines for me ), and based on those results, I'd estimate a 5% failure rate with JCM3. The 50% rate without JCM has been borne out for me based on my results. Granted, 20-30 combines is not statistically significant, but it's enough to establish a rough estimate.

thanks a lot for the info guys, i think i found someone with JCM3 for the combines since it seems to make a big difference...too bad the components cost almost more than the finished item now on veeshan
