  • At 203 JC, Question/Advice

Ok, so my enchanter is level 56 with 203 in JC. The question that I have is regarding enchanting bars or not enchanting bars for combines. I figure I have three options:

    1. to enchant and make items and sell them in Bazaar for PP
    2. to enchant and make items and sell to vendor
    3. to not enchant items and sell to vendor

My questions are: How much money would the third option eat of mine to get to 250 skill? And is it worth it to try and sell something like Velium Fire Wedding Rings and Velium Jasper rings in the bazaar?

I would like to get the skill up fast (I haven't moved in skill for a very long time) but I also am frugal and don't want to waste 10k or something on making jewelry.

    Thanks for your time!

How good is your int? At that level you should be able to get near or to 255 fairly easily. So the skill should roll in. I did most my jewelcrafting around 200 int and it was still fast.

Keep this in mind - all jewelcraft combines with an enchanted bar sell back for a small profit. This profit is roughly 4% the cost of components. This falls short of the theoretical 5% failure rate. However it is close enough that a few kpp will keep you going all the way to 250 and still be mostly there, if not having grown some if you are lucky.

If you don't enchant the bars, this 4% profit becomes a 4% loss on sellback. Assuming 100pp per combine, you are losing 4pp for every combine. Add to that the 5% failure rate and you are losing 176pp a stack. JC seems to get about one skillup a stack on average, so for simplicity 50 stacks of gems and bars. You would lose 3800pp. Of course the number will be a little higher because most combines will really be 105pp to 110pp, but 100 was an easier number to work with.

Now you may get lucky and do it in less, or you may hit a bad streak and eat up 10kpp and only get half way there. If you really want to pinch every cp though, enchant the bars. It will take awhile, but you won't lose too much money.
