  • Black Pearls and Gold

If you are using Gumkak's excellent Cheap and Slow guide to raise your jewelcrafting skill, I would like to recommend a little sidetrack.

After using Gold + Opal (28pp 3gp 5sp) to reach 191, I suggest doing some vendor mining to locate Black Pearls.

    Gold + Black Pearl (36pp 5gp) to 195

and then Gold + Fire Opal (63pp) to 196

Black pearls are fairly common on PoK vendors and other vendors near medium-level zones.

Sorry, I should have provided a link to Gumkak's site:

        http://www.valendor.org/gumkak/jewelcraft.asp

        There are three methods available:

        Cheap and Slow
        Fast and Expensive
        Least Steps Between Trivials

I found a cheaper combination than Black Pearl + Gold Bar.

If you have a use for them or can sell them in the Bazaar, champagne magnums are a nice way to reach 196 after you finish Opal + Gold Bar combinations.

champagne magnum = enchanted bar of gold + opal + bottle

They cost 28.355 pp each and they stack!

This is what my enchanter did for awhile (wasn't too long after PotC came out that I GMd) and then my druid used them to skill up some brewing. I only did this for a couple stacks as it got very tedious.
