Best slot for trophy?

I stopped doinf my jewelry at 245 since I had my trophy with 5% to jewelry. With a few fails I am having in other items I decided to take it up to 250. Now my Trophy has been in my range slot. When I started to do my combines for those last 5 point I found I was failing a reasonable amount like 3-5 for a stack of bars or even more.

I decided to put my trophy in my primary slot and started to do more and I was only getting about 1-2 fails per stack or even none.

Have others found this sort of thing, as I know it dosn't affect stats when in ammo slot, but I thought the +5% would work in range slot since stats do change, but it seems the +5% works if in primary (not tried secondary)

I've had it at various times in all three of the slots that affect stats (primary, secondary, range) and haven't noticed any difference in success percentages. (Though, I'm at 250, and given that the skill cap w/ modifiers is 252, it would be a very small difference between it working and not.)

I doubt that there's any difference to the trophy's benefit to skill between the three slots; I think it's more likely that the RNG was having a little fun at your expense. (I consider it likely, however, that just like the rest of the stats on the trophy, the addition to JC skill won't work from the ammo slot.)

It all depends on what you have in the other slots, I have it in range spot because my primary and secondary slots have items that can only go in those slots and have beter stats than my range slot item. And what you are useing it for at the time, I use it for the 50 Cha when I'm CoDing and keep Epic and Focus Crystal in Primary and Secondary for the added Int, Cha and Mana. I just drop Orb of Lost Souls into range for clicky then change it back to Trophy.

Having two Jeweler's Trophies, one before lore and one after, I have one in Range and one in secondary. Group for the +100 cha
