  • Get some skillz and make some phat cash

Currently, I am a level 23 enchanter with some nice gear given to myself from my 57 necro. I transfered some DRU/RNG spells to him and have made more profit from those spells than anything else I have sold in the bazaar so far. Currently, I have a total of ~4400pp, but I owe 487pp to someone who gave me the spells (1/4 of the profit from the spells). I was wondering if there is a way for me to get my jewelry skill up with that money and be able to make enough profit from the items I make to pay back my friend.

    Thanks,
    Scecil

Unless you hunt in Tier 2+ PoP zones, it is unlikely you will make "phat cash" with tradeskills. You could break even, but don't get into tradeskills to make a lot of cash. On my server at least, bakers and brewers get a better return on investment than jewelers and smiths.

Hrmm... would you recommend holding off on a trade skill to later and just paying off my friend and buying stuff/saving it up?

        Yes.

Early, tradeskills are a money sink.

Later, tradeskills are a bigger money sink.

Even later, you might make some money, but that's not until 200+ in some skills and only at 250 (or never) in others.

If you want to level up your JC skill on a budget then first you're going to want to spend 10 minutes in Paladule caverns so you can ding 24 and chant your own gold.

If you chant ever metal bar that you use then you can pay your friend the 487 you owe him and it won't cost you more than 1-2k to get yourself up to GM jeweler which means that you'll still have atleast 2k in your pocket when all's said and done.

Just get yourself a c3, enchant bars till you're OOM, combine till you're FM, rinse and repeat.[/quote]
