Confused about JC

My chanter got into JC about the time the dwerium, palladium and such came out with the single, double and triple slot items... Was doing pretty good. Had my skill up to 270 some thought I understood everything... had my level 40 something warrior outfitted with some mega AC and hp items then everything got nerfed, changed and level restrictions popped up. I was pretty disgusted so absolutely quit messing with JC all together. It was bad enough that it took a 100 word per minute typing skill to explain to customers or guildies what the augs do in under an hour, but after the change it just made it miserable.

I didn't complain too much, just focused on research. So now I am thinking of getting some stuff for my baby bard mule, mostly because there just doesn't seem to be anything decent in the face, finger or ear slot in the bazaar, prices are very cheap and I want to take him out on a whim now and then. (which means solo with merc).

He is currently level 19... so if I am reading things right (spent the last hour and half trying to re-figure things out...) I need gold for him? What other augs would be recommended? Compartmented stuff is only for higher levels right? Is there a guide anywhere on this stuff?

Sticky'd in the Jewelry page is a calculator that tells the stats for each jewel in which setting. They did a really fantastic job doing it to.

Compartmented is recommended 5 levels higher than the ones without so the gold compartmented would be recommended level 25. Not a huge issue since lvl 1-40 are pretty easy and your bard wont really have alot of type 7 augs that soon anyway.

For My warrior I started with the health regen with the Sapphire and added the Peridot for AC and the Emerald for HP. As his gear got better to have the regen capped out I am switching to Taafiates, Pick your posion there but I decides on the Square ones.

The calculator will show you all the gem combo's with all the various settings and also has the level too so you can check how bad a hit you are taking if you want him to wear a higher setting.
