  • Two questions

    1) It seems like the player made jewelry that allow augs missed the mark? I mean, we can make the trio rings, and the augs to add, but we can't sell them after we make them... so we can only use them. Who is going to use the rings, earring etc. that are made at around 70 trivial? Not the maker, he/she is bound to be higher level with better gear than that... Noone else either, as non-crafters wont know that these no-stat earring, rings etc are used by adding the cheaper augs for their new characters and why would they bother? If we could make nuce trio rings with low stats and sell them, I could see it, but as it is, things like the electrum trio jewelry is just useless?

    2) What are the uses for revered water of ... I see these in the database here, but they all say no recipes use them.. I see they exist on multiple tiers - what is their purpose?

You don't sell thefinished jewelry , you sell the parts... that way a character can purchase a base from you, and insert whichever gems he/she wants so that it is completely customized to their desires.

The (nnn) waters of (ooo) used to be used for cultural aug making. revered waters of (ooo) were used with lambent stones as a subcombine.

By base Elyssanda means any of the eight player made jewelry slots. They are Ring (x2), Earring (x2), Bracelet (x2), Veil (x1) and Pendant (x1) and can be made with one (solo), two (duo) or three (trio) augmentation slots.

Then you can make the augments based on the needs of the player.

        To sell

If you are going to cut jewelry to sell ... I have found that (of standard gems) only these 3 sell well:

        Round Cut Opal (AC)
        Round Cut Emerald (Mana)
        Round cut Peridot (HP)

Other than those, you can make various cuts:
        Staurolite, Prestidigitase, Harmonagate, and Taaffeite
However, only the Taafy sells well.

Marquis Cut Crimson Nihilite will sell. You won't get rich, but it moves reliably enough that I throw it up on the trader whenever I run across them.

Understood that they buy the components...

But frankly, players that don't craft don't want to know the details.... AND.... the ones that don't know the details can't see what these augs do in the bazaar - as the stats don't show.

I think they really missed the mark here.

Unfortunately that's the way the game is coded. If people are asking about stats and what to get I typically just send them to look at the link below and tell me what they want.

I've been away from game for a couple of years and just recently came back. So am I understanding that jewelcrafting has changed significantly? I have alot of gems in my various characters and was looking to to start making some things again and was reviewing recipes on here and low and behold I see alot of things I don't even recognize.

So basically we can now only make settings and cut gems but no finished products? Im confused.

Yup. I could not get a code change to make it jewelry only, so you basically sell "parts" that the end user puts together.

Since you may have been gone before they were introduced, there is a new system called Augments. All gear has at least 1 augment slot, some have multiple slots. Only certain augment types fit into augment slots. Augments enhance (or augment, go figure) the items they are inserted into.

There are Augmentation Pools (loos like a bird bath and are sometimes called that) in certain locations (Guild Hall, Guild Lobby, Bazaar, LDoN Camps, etc..). Put in the gear and an augment into the Augmentation Pool and click combine and the augment will insert itself into the first available slot that it can fit into (this is important to remember when working with items with more than one augmentation slot).

The new jewelry system allows the player to make:

                    1. "Empty" items (ring, ring, ear, ear, wrist, wrist, face and/or neck) with one (solo), two (duo) or three (trio) augmentation slots

                    2. Augments that fit into solo, duo and trio items.

There is no bonus for making a solo or duo item, so pretty much all you will make are the trio items (so they can hold three augs).

I split gems into two categories:

                    1. Can be vendor purchased for < 20pp. These are all round-cut gems and are type 10 and type 11 augments. (Note they are both types so can fit either type of slot)

                    2. Can be vendor purchased for > 20pp or drop only. These all make type 11 only augs. Since the jewelry items (solo, duo, trio) have only one slot that is type 11, this is the one that you will insert first when using the augmentation pool. Review the different dropped gems and cuts to find the best for your purposes.

Also, before you get confused. Jewelry and armor do not mix. Even though there are type 11 cultural augs for wrist items, they will not fit into solo, duo or trio jewelry items. Also the type 11 augments created from jewelry crafting will not fit into any of the cultural armor made with smithing, tailoring or tinkering.
