  • Jewelcraft - Cheapest Tradeskill?

With the introduction of all the Slot 10 & 11 Augs, and the increase in drops for Uncut Gems, I'm convinced this is now the CHEAPEST tradeskill to take to 300!

I purchased a total of 732 Uncut gems in the Quellious Bazaar for under 600 plat (yep, many were 4-7gp). I dropped 3 AA into the New Tanaan and went to town skilling up on the Uncut gems. Out of the 732 I skilled up from 200 to 256!!! Ran out of gems, so gotta buy some more, LOL.

If there is a cheaper tradeskill to Grandmaster, I'd like to know!

There are other options too that are cheap, specifically Nihilite. I set up a buyer to buy all four (Raw Amber, Raw Crimson, Raw Indigo and Raw Shimmering) Nihilite. Then use the GoD raw material conversion (you did that quest years ago, right?) and start converting. With max coversion (about 400 conversions) you will be getting three Nihilite from each combine:

The first three are cheap, but the Raw Shimmering I typically have to make at at least 100pp to get people to sell them to me. But, for 3 combines over 300 is still WAY cheap.

Also, back to the other part of the discussion, you are not to 300 yet.

If you just mean to 250 as grand master, Brewing is by far the easiest / cheapest to get to 250+ with Baking a close second. If you can get hold of plenty of binding powder many people claim that route is the easiest / fastest / cheapest for Research (mine is already 300, but I've never seen quantities anywhere near enough for reasonable skill-up runs).

Oh, and other trade skills on the cheap, Fletching for Karana or Wood Elves all the way to 300 is probably the easies route overall for any tradeskill.

The new cultural smithing and tailoring options make getting to 250+ not too bad at all.

There are tons of cheap skill-up options out there if your bazaar supports them (and/or farm the stuff yourself).
