JC Gear/Trophy

I have been gone from EQ for awhile now. I'm trying to get my JC up from 250 to 300. I'm at 270 right now and should be up too 300 in the next 1-2 weeks. My questions is this: What +%JC gear should I have at 300. Also I keep hearing something about a torphy you have to upgrade or something. Can somebody please drop a list of gear needed and what is this torphy?

All of the various tradeskill trophies can be found here
at the level you currently are, you will get a nice trophy, I think level 6 is the 12% modifier. when you complete the task you will get a level 1 trophy PLUS a certificate. pop the certificate in your JC bag and hit combine and your trophy will auto-evolve to level 6.

Ely means Level 5. It can evolve to level 6 once you reach 300 skill.


Trophies can level 1 Tier higher than your skill. Max Skill is Tier 6 + 1 trophy is Tier 7 (the Brewmaster's Mug).


50-99 - Tier 1 - 1/7 - Beginner +1%
100-149 - Tier 2 - 2/7 - Apprentice +2%
150-199 - Tier 3 - 3/7 - Freshman +4%
200-249 - Tier 4 - 4/7 - Journeyman +5%
250-299 - Tier 5 - 5/7 - Expert +8%
300 - Tier 6 - 6/7 - Master +12%
300 - Tier 7 - 7/7 - (GrandMaster) +15%


If your trophie advances one tier ahead of you, it will not evolve further until your raw skill reaches the same tier.

If you are interested in the trophies, follow the link and go see the halfing outside and just north of the west gate in (the new) West Freeport. She will offer you quests for any of hte seven basic tradeskills and, if you are eligible, any of the class/race specific trade skills as well.


I am not sure what you mean % gear. If you jsut mean the modifier, then they are as listed above. The game mechanic remains the same in that you only get the effect of the single, highest, equiped, tradeskill modifier (which is currently 15%).
