Each with a Round Cut Peridot in one slot and a non-rec level gem in the other.

The type 11s as follows:
Oval Cut Fire Emerald x3 (cap DS of 35).
Trillion Cut Sapphire x5 (cap HP regen of 35).

Now buy Damage Shield potions (go for about 10 pp each for 15 minutes of duration). You'll be L 45+ in no time at all.

Melee can continue using this up to L 55 and beyond with other gear set up right, regen potions, Healing over Time potions, haste potions, health potions, and (ideally) steadfast servant, etc.

The fire emeralds are rec 50, so that doesn't work. Regen and Mana regen are the way to go.

The damage shield, with a 50 recommend as long as you don't put anything else into the trio setting, increases in power pretty quick. I believe that by level 18 it was up to 4 per piece. What you can do is sacrifice some of the hp regen for more ds, as a balance. If you have a fungi tunic obviously you don't require as much regen from jc.
