  • Rec levels are adjusting to highest in trios

I realize this whole mess has been a lot of work for the coders already but...
I logged in to find that my rec level 40 gems on my level 55 toon are not getting full stats because of the rec level 65 gem in the same item.
This is how augmentations in armor works , but is/can anything going to be done to fix this problem in the jewelry?

This creates bizarre incentives, e.g. having higher stats if you add in a gem with a lower recommended level. It would be a good deal cleaner just to have required levels if you really don't want people using something - or if you want to make them swap it out.

The way augments work, a higher rec item would never take on the lower rec level. See how augments work in armor. If you put a non rec level aug into armor with a rec level, the stats on the augment get nerfed down to match the armor (assuming you are not of the level recommended).
I doubt they saw this coming, as tagging the gems augments in the first place was a *quick fix* for other hard to address issues, and I doubt this will be able to be fixed any time soon either.
So no mixing and matching on those gems with rec levels on them if you're not of the rec level of the highest or you'll just be nerfing your own gem stats.

As nice as this/these items first seemed to be, we all knew it was too good to be true. They were anguish equivalent items that came from the bazaar and went on ANY toon. (nerf eminent)

There really isnt an easy viable fix (imo) to the dwerium sets. If you req the jewelry itself everyone gets froggy and makes 100page rants on sony site, if you recco the gems themselves you find bugs like (above) explained here.

The best fix would probably be recco the jc itself and NOT the gems, adjusting percent for level on total item. (if thats even possibly not a coding nightmare)

Well nerfing it has a deffinite affect.

The two friends i got to come back and play again just told me they canceled their accounts. They were having fun, and able to lvl because YOU CANT FIND GROUPS. Now they have no stats, gear and said f-it.

they didnt need to nerf jewelcraft.

As for it being anguish level - hello mcfly. have you adventured in the zones from TSS on? you dont even need to raid up to DP anymore. Just go get group gear and bypass that old raid content your wasitng your time unless your a TANK. And if you are a tank - go for TBS.

Anyone who worries about old content being equal to what a player makes is living in a fantasy world. There needs to be a way to raise people up so they CAN level and well... they just told us to bend over without lube.

I think the biggest issue here was deciding to LISTEN to th vocal minority on the forums, switching the recommended levels to the gems just does not make alot of sense.

I like that Ngreth will try and listem to the playerbase, but I think this was a case where he should have gone the origianl direction for recommended levels with the metals you are mounting them into.

As for why not leave it as it is...Pulease, prior to the recommended levels, you could equip a level 1 necro, with square cut rubies, (+7 mana regen) and Crimson Nihilite ect, and never drop below 90% health and could not possiblly get below 90% mana chain casting spells. And this was basically the case to level 20.

Move recommended level to the jewelry metals, if they scale and are still considered over powering in the mid levels add a required level...

In fact I think it would make more sense to make metals have a required level to begin with, thus creating a market for the lower level metals.

Also why not make solo mounts lower required level than duo mounts and same for duo to trio, giving people a reason to possibly make/buy duo and solo mounts.

You could make Dwerium trio required level 75, Dwerium duo required 70 and Dwerium solo required 65.

A Dwerium ring with a cut taaffeitte and no other augs would not be over the top for a level 65.

leave the mounts tradeable, and make all gems (augs) attuneable.

            Just my 2cp

We are definitely considering moving it to the metals and off the gems.

              We have to re-evaluate.

                Seriously Folks

Ok look, since I have already done it (and assuming the people *still* complaining that this gear is overpowered haven't), 8 slots of this stuff (without a full set of other twink gear) at maxed hp/mana/stats/regens whatever just is NOT enough to get you past 30s. I don't know what all the commotion is about, because it doesn't matter how fast you regen if you don't have the dps to KILL the mobs what's the point? What it IS good for is something more people NEED to do which is get thier skills up; the longer the mob's alive beating on you, you beating on it, casting on it etc... this stuff was GREAT for that and I'm sad to see that go. Since the added recommended levels I switched my lils over from all mana or all hp to all regens and raw stats. Sure, I don't run out of hp or mana but neither does the mob haha. And at 65 I don't know what will happen now with the metal changes to my toon who just adjusted the set to that level, and my 71 is wearing only 2 pieces still, and the lil ones well I guess they are just going to be going back to the regular gear *shrug*. I'm glad I didn't spend a fortune on this mess. It's been fun, but as someone who's levelled many, many toons up solo to 50s I can honestly say, tho fun, this mess of jewelry has not made much of a difference at all the ammount of time it takes. It really makes me mad that the *uber minority* were too stubborn and just plain ignorant to let the little people have a go at it. Oh well.

If by "uber minority" you mean that Maddoc didn't like the stats being as high as they were (without recommneded levels) then you are correct. The recommended levels placed on the jewelry had a large effect than initially planned and Ngreth I believe has a solution going in with this patch to correct it, hopefully for good.
