Unable to combine enchanted bar + gem

I'm new to JC (175), trying to make enchanted jewelery. I've tried a few different combos from the JC quick list but I can't get a planar or normal jewelry kit to accept enchanted bars, and no enchanted recipes appear in the recipe list. What am I doing wrong?

The old JC recipes don't work anymore:-P
Have to use the new uncut gems that drop with the cutting tools and the jewerly eye glass.

Don't enchant the bars if you want to do old combines. Strickly for skill ups.
