  • New Jewelcrafting Questions

I hope I'm posting this in the right area. I'm trying to figure out what to do with a few new SoF stones I've got, like: Uncut Morganite, etc.

I've read alot of posts here, but I think I'm slow of mind. Here's a few questions I have:

    1. Does the Palladium and the new AA for Enchanting Palladium have ANYTHING to do with the new JC items/abilities?

    2. I read that I have to first create a setting. I can use Silver, Gold, Platinum, etc. Not Palladium, tho?

    3. Where can I see the recipes in #2?

    4. Why would someone use Silver or Gold, when they can use Platinum? I've seen the stats are better for Platinum, so maybe I'm confused...

    5. Once I make the setting (is it a ring/earring, etc.?), I can then cut one of the new stones (I have a few different kinds). Where do I get the cutting tool?

    6. Then just combine the cut stone with the setting?

    7. Can there be more than one stone per setting? What's the max?

Thank you sooooo much. I hope someone can help this dumb ranger of mine. lol.

    1. yes
    2. yes you can use palladium
    3. we are learning them as we go, those discovered are posted in the SoF database forum.
    4. simply cost, some of my customers can't afford palladium taaffiete.
    5. it is the same cutting tool used for taaffiete before the xpac went live, it has been updated to include 3 more tools on the ring.
    6. this combine is done in the aug pools
    7. there are single, duo and trio settings.
    Regards,

I have a question. The old velium fire wedding ring had ac6 hp 65. Now with the new system the best ac for a velium ring is 5 with hp 56. Why the decrease? I would have hoped that it would be as good as the old system or better, not worse.

        Because of the third slot

        I'd take a 5 ac 56 HP +5 regen ring over the 6 ac 65 hp ring.

If you want to include a prestidigitase in the slot 11 you can far exceed the 6 AC 65 HP ring too.

Thanks for info. Are they going to increase the areas that Prestidigitase drops?

I have noticed Presti and Taaff flooding the bazaar, taaff has gone from 20k to 6k, presti's have stayed about the same price (around 1k), but there are definatly a lot more.

People also make gold/silver because of lvl recommendations, which from what I hear were left out, I can only assume there will be a patch to put in rec levels.

Prestidigitase and other PoR gems are on the global drop tables now. They are just rare.

I got a Taafeite from Sunderrock Springs a couple of days ago.

The 4 most valuable gems are now global drop as mentioned. They are just way rare (they were always way rare) One of them was rare beyond its intent (I think Staurolite... may have been prestidigitase) and now will drop more often
