I sorta broke the Some of the Nihilite combines.

Any EXISTING shimmering Nihilite you made will not work properly. I have put in some recipes to use it (they will show in the kit with the same recipe name and (legeacy) added to the end.)

Also, the NPC will not handle indigo or amber nihilite at this time.

Crimson nihilite is still pale nihilite, but that will be undergoing a name change.

Basically it is enough of a mess that I cannot confirm that any of it will work properly until the patch.

I fixed it all so it should all work properly. The quests and the combines, but it needs a full patch.

Was a bit maddening seeing some people able to refine these things but I remain unable to despite having done the quest.

The new Jewelcraft looks neat so far! I'm excited about it.

I cannot refine the Raw Amber Nihilite, nor the Raw Indigo Nihilite. I have done the refining quest and have refined Raw Pale Nihilite and Raw Shimmering Nihilite.

I did the refining quest on 2 different toons back in the GoD era (main because he does everything, enchanter/jeweler because main doesn't have room for all the supplies).

I haven't been able to refine anything -- not even shimmering nihilite which still showed up in the JC kit UI since SoF release. Trying to combine the raw shimmering nihilite or click combine one the shimmering nihilite entry in the UI returned some odd messages and gave back the raw shimmering nihilite.

Since yesterday's patch, the shimmering nihilite entry is gone from my JC kit UI entirely and putting any single raw xxx nihilite in the kit and combining returns you cannot combine these items.

This is extremely annoying since I put a lot of time into doing these quests and then 'practicing' the combines until I got the refined items per raw ingredient.

Still can't Marquise Cut the Amber Nihilite...

Have lots of Pale Nihilite laying around... can't cut it at all.

Still can't refine... can't even refine Raw Shimmering Nihilite anymore!

Can't Trillion Cut the Shimmering Nihilite I had banked, either.

I had some pale nihilite banked from before SoF. It's the already refined stuff. My toon is now level 77. I can't do anything with the pale nihilite, though:

Pale Nihilite (alone) = DNC
Pale Nihilite + cutting tool = DNC (tried all seven tools)
Pale Nihilite + cutting tool + Jeweler's Glass = DNC (tried all seven tools)

It's possible that I missed a tool without realizing it or that I'm doing something wrong. From Ngreth's post, Pale Nihilite will be getting a name change to Crimson Nihilite, but it sounds like it should still work aside from that. Anyone have any ideas?

The impression I get is, if you refine it today you get crimson (a new item). If you refined it before you have a useless item.

First you have to do:

Played with nihilite some today (Nov 24). Notes:

Per Ngreth's forehead bruise thread below, at 77 I was able to complete the "jewelcraft freebie" quest and was able to refine nihilites (did crimson, amber, and indigo) in the jewelry kit.

Raw Crimson Nihilite did refine to Crimson Nihilite.

Crimson Nihilite + Enchanted Plat Bar = Platinum Nihilite Pendant
In recipe list as: Platinum Nihilite Pendant (Magical)

Pale Nihilite + Enchanted Plat Bar = Platinum Nihilite Pendant
In recipe list as: Electrum Nihilite Pendant (Legacy)
(Yes, Electrum. No, I didn't try cutting Pales, I just had the one.)

Crimson, Amber, and Indigo refined fine, and cut into Marquise also just fine, although recipes returned the wrong tool. Wrong tools made Salvage act a bit wacky, and I'd get a Pear Cut back and salvage a Marquise and had tools all over the place!
