  • New (in game) Tool

For something I am working on (sorry no more details than that) I need to either do a stack-able mold that may be consumed, or another tool (can do a tool ring like the cutting tool I did for the high end gems)

I am leaning towards the "other tool" but I am willing to concede and do the mold if you prefer. What do folks think?

If tool... I could add it to the "tool ring" with the cutting tools, but that just makes it longer to get to the tools you want. But at the same time, it saves item space.

This is just my first impression; I haven't thought it through. Conceptually, I like tools, but for trivial cases, a mold may be more flexible.

If it's a single-form item (equivalent to a single new mold), I'd rather go with molds, or add it to the existing tool.

If it's a multi-form item (equivalent to multiple new molds), I'm more inclined to go with a new tool. Bank space is still at a premium, unless you plan to add another 8 slots or so.

Basically 1-3 settings... I cam make a "tool" for each setting (and put it on a ring) or make a "setting" mold, and you just put in 1-3 molds.

The mold advantage... you can destroy the mold and just buy them when you need them, and not have an extra thing to store. Con: You have to keep buying molds, may have to go to another zone to get the molds.

Tool advantage. Buy once and you are done! Con: You have to store it.

Adding it to the already existing tool ring is a win for those who already are storing one in bank anyway. As far as sorting through all the tools on the ring, meh, what is 3 more after going through 7.

I voted for making them part of the existing shape tool. If they don't really fall into the category of a shape tool, for the cutting of a gemstone, then I would suggest a new tool. I do like the way in which the current tool functions. I need 1 tool to attempt any of the different shapes. Going from 7 to 10 or adding a 2nd tool. Either option would be preferred to molds. Bank/inventory space is a real premium for me.
