cap/success rate on cutting Taaffeite?

Taaffeite is becoming the bane of my existence! My hubby has 7/7 trophy and he's only 2/5 on cutting Taaffeite Anyone know if there's a cap like there is with GM cultural? I know with trivs over 400 we're going to fail, but sheesh its darn expensive!

Im my own personal opinion, I think the higher trivilals have made an appearance to make the tradeskill mastery AAs and the higher % mods on the PoR trophies relevant again.

Also, as always, it's a way of limiting how many higher end items enter the world.

Good point. He has a gazillion AAs but hasn't bothered with any of the mastery ones yet. Thanks for the advice!

I've seen one (during a three hour + killing spree) off a giant in Icefall off a typical ice gaint type mob, but I don't have the name, but I'll see if I can find anything.

I am 5 from 8 on cutting taaffenite. Was really lucky in salvaging 2 out of the 3 failures. Thats with 6/7 trophy and no JCM.
edit - my gems have dropped from vendors or bazaar btw.

It is a TSS drop, but I've gotten all mine in bazaar as well. Sad thing is we're not selling them, we have 3 mains to re-equip!

I am 3 for 3 on cutting these. I am JC300, JCM3 and Salvage 3 (best TS AA ever). I have personally seen them drop in Frostcrypt and Valdholm.

I had 2 drop in Ashengate for me during a 2hr xp session.

Failed cutting both with 282 skill and 8% mod and JCM3.

Salvage 3 as well... and that didnt save anything .

im averaging 2-3/5 combines. Made quite a few tho I havent failed on the last combine yet (thank god, I think I would cry irl).

I was one of the first people on Luclin selling them in the baz and had an excellent sucess rate when I was still "discovering" recipes for here, since then tho, my luck has plumeted.
