  • Annoyance with Palladium

    Greetings,

Is it just me or is anyone annoyed that they have not brought the vendor sell price of jewelry made with palladium up to a reasonable level?

Any piece you make, be it with Malachite or Blue Diamond sells for 9 silver 5 copper. I really appreciate that they have added this metal to allow for a skill up path into the 200s for jewelcrafting, but I would like it not to be a complete PP sink for me. Even making the price so it's 10% less then the gem cost would cause me to be a happier Iksar.

    Lol,

Hey Tiger, you rememebr this horse of old?

Anyhow, the wife finds hundreds of these palladium items for sale on vendors and has made a very good profit selling them in the baz.

Certainly, easily saleible for 25-500 pp depending on the stats.

    Good luck!

I remember you, you old warhorse.. though I thought you had given up on EQ with your schedule being way to busy. Hope you and the foxy lady are doing well.

While I could go though and put what I make on a trader, there just isn't enough space for me to do so. I blew through almost 200 bars of palladium last night and most of those were successful (though not skill ups). I'm sure I could sell some of the pieces but not 150 of them. My trader only has room for 78 items total (2 spots are taken up with food and drink). I might consider selling some pieces in the future, I'd still like to see EQ developers give us a fair price for stuff sold to vendors in this fashion.

How did you do those dropdown boxes under your name BTW?

Palladium fire opal rings (the 8 ac 70 hp ones), if you forage the ore yourself, costs you like 53pp to make, and you will sell 200 of them in a week if you price them at say, 75pp. Price them at 300pp and they'll sell in months, but will end up selling. Personally, the palladium diamond/blue diamond stuff isn't worth it. Its crap that few people want to use even on a twink, and you'll never get cost from it.

Much better to buy cheap augs, radiant cut them (they have a skill up mod on them) and resell at a reasonable price.

I did 155 combines of palladium fire opal rings last night, without a single skill gain.
I price them at 125 plat, and I sell about 6 a day. Currently, about half my stock of rings are on my bazaarbot, and the other half are on a seldom used alt.

Cheap is kind of a relative term as when looking for raw augment stock, I see people selling them for 2-6K a piece. If I could be guarenteed a skill up off of each one that I make, I'd likely be ok with that price, but seeing as it tends to take 20-30 between skill ups, that's a bit pricey for me to try.

When I get up to making Fire Opal rings (I'm working my way though the gems) I'll certainly consider selling them like you suggested though. My primary complaint was that the resale value to vendors sucks for what should be reasonable low level gear.
