    I hate the RNG, and it hates me

    287 skill / 280 Int / Grandmaster Trophy (301 adjusted skill) / No JCM / No Salvage

    Combining Enchanted Velium + Diamond / Jacinth / Amethyst / Geode (and an aug here and there)

    215 Combines / About 95% Successes

    No Skill-Ups !!!

      Keep your chin up.. I think the worst I had was 664 combines [294-295](360 Wis.. ) no skill ups...

      Thing about skill ups.. as long as you are not 300.. you know you have to get one eventually. Keep at it hun.

        After I went over 200 with no skillups, I lost count. I'm pretty sure I've done several hundred more (AT LEAST) since then (that was months ago). I've been sitting at 292 skill in JC (or 293, I forget) forever, and I don't really know why I keep trying, that's how bad it can feel. I know it's just the RNG and bad luck. I know a very very small 1% chance exists that one point can take 1000 combines, and that it's very unlikely for that to happen to me. But... the last point I got came after 200+ combines as well, and it's sickening to have an even worse streak following.

        I keep wishing SoE designers would realize how devastatingly depressed a tradeskiller can become in the face of such runs, and put some sort of cap on the number it can take just to earn one skillup. But that's possibly one of those things they can't (or just don't) track, so it's probably about as likely as pigs flying. Which, coincidently, is apparently my chance to skillup again in JC.

          Well, FINALLY, that elusive point 293 arrived for me last night, on the 57th or so of a run of 60 blue diamond/platinum combines! It's probably a good thing I lost count of the total combines I'd tried before that, but I suspect I was suffering from that 1% chance of it taking 1000.

          Anyway, that one's over. Hoping the RNG will choose to be kinder now, cuz I don't think I could take another point like this one.

            Currently at 743 combines to get my last point. I loathe the RNG.
