  • Jacinth

    Hi,

Where can I buy Jacinth? Scanned list of vendors here and did not see it.

    Thanks

  • #2
they are a dropped by mobs gem, on the lines of blue diamonds , diamonds, black sapphires etc..

if you buy them from a NPC vendor it is because a PC player sold it to them first.. they are not stocked by any NPCs. Sorry!

      Gayle,

Jacinth are not vendor sold, barring what players sell to a vendor. If you need some they generally show up on vendors near port in areas or near the banks in PoK when people sell what they have accumulated.

Thanks. I have been spoiled and so far found on POK vendors but lately nothing and did some research and will have to go kill a Dread Widow or two.

I make Artisan Seals and so far Black Sapphires are on almost every vendor, everywhere. I loot diamonds and blue diamonds in Natimbi and have quite a good amount of both.

Not sure if this is true for your server or not, but it is the case on The Nameless. Jacinths seems to accumulate on the DoN vendors and the other vendors in the Lavastorm zone. After I trivialed Jacinths, I started seeing them in numbers as high as 144 on a vendor. :\

Yes, there is no question that jacinths are much more common now. They, along with black sapphires, can be found with relative ease on vendors in the Plane of Knowledge, the wayfarer camps, and pretty much any place in Norrath that has a high volume of traffic and nearby vendors. It is also, I might add, much better to those of us attempting to make artisan seals, as we no longer have to rely on getting said gems from a very select number of critters who drop them, or part with lots of platinum to buy them in the bazaar.

Heh, I saw more than 500 on the new DoN vendor not long ago, on the nameless. That vendor is good for all the gems needed for artisian seals.

Sadly, I can rarely find the one or two Blue Diamond on a vendor Makes it hard to get those last 5 skillups I need for 300 JC

Same here. Buy every BD I see. Got to skill 288 last night. But I see Jacinths, Diamonds, and Black Sapphires on multiple PoK and Lavastorm vendors everytime I check for BDs. They are extremely common now. Only wish BDs were as easy to find. I refuse to pay 400-600p for them in the bazaar. I'm already losing cash on them at 262. I won't lose more. I'll just go slowly.

16p per combine isn't much to lose, but I have 6 other tradeskills to lose money on.

I got through nearly 400 jacinths when I was using the GM trophy to skillup my fletching. One tactic I found useful was to go round and 'seed' vendors immediately after a patch. If you sell them one jacinth each, then it guarantees any more jacinths sold to them by players will be accessable for buying later. Otherwise the vendors get filled up with other vendor trash, and even if players do sell them, they drop off the sale list.

When I did it with Jacinths, I used the vendors in the guild lobby, and all the ones in Adventurers and DoN evil/good camps.

I tried it in PoK, but to many vendor miners kept buying them up, so it wasnt productive.

If you get lucky, and no jewelers are actively vendor mining these camps, you can go round every couple of days and harvest gems sold to the merchant, leaving one behind of course.
