Well I would certainly like to see the maximum success rates listed. But in its absence, I think its nice to spread the word to other tradeskillers of exactly what success rates they should expect, and inform those that have not yet purchased the masteries of exactly how useless they are at 300 skill.

All the cap raise did was let non jcm characters get the same success rate as jcm characters.
With the experience of more than 100 augment combines after reaching 300 skill with JCM3, I've come to the conclusion that this is true. My average augment success rate is no better than it was at 250, and I've had some horrific patches including six failures in a row.

Not sure if JCM is broken but it seems that the baby has peed in the bath-water.

My experience is very similar to this. While working my skill for 270-291 before last patch, I saw close to 90% success cutting the rare OoW augs like howlite, sphalerite, etc. Since the last patch, my raw skill has gone from 291-294 and yet I have failed 7 rare OoW augment cuts in a row. Now I'm broke and need money. <pouts>

I did somewhere in the neighborhood of 15 augment cuts last night for someone. I got everyone of them but 2. Which came on #13/14. Which leads me to believe JCM is workin as intended.

You should realize that the combine is success capped at 70% and JCM makes it 85% isn't actually a choice. According to the devs, the mastery checks occur before the success/fail caps are applied. So even if the augments had the normal 95% success cap, mastery wouldn't help, since even without mastery you can get to 95% success on a 351 trivial at 308 adjusted skill (294+trophy). Fifteen cuts is also a fairly small sample size, and 13/15 really isn't that far off from the 11/15 that I would expect.

Those cuts you did...were they the common flow stones or the more rare % and effect augs?

I am still over 90% successful cutting 30 flow stones but am 1 out of 15'ish cutting the higher trivial sphalerites, titanites, howlites, tourmalines, etc. since the last patch.

I'm 1 for 1 on Radiant Titanite. I think I'll stop there and bask in the light of 100% success rate
