  • Jewelry Quest Abysmal Sea-Raw Nilhlite

    Hi,

Did this simple but many click quest last night. Did everything because she said she was giving polish and the words say would know how to make the polish and know how to make stone from the Raw or Shimmering Nilhlite.

Well, dont have any polish in inventory, where to I see the polish rceipe.

I have two pieces of Nil that had saved from fighting in Natimbi.

    What do I do now?

just put the raw stone in your JC kit and click combine. The 'polish' is inherent to the kit, you don't actually need anything else.

For all the Abysmal sea trade skill quests, once you have completed the quest, you can start converting the raw material yourself, just put 1 in the jewelry kit and hit combine. If you only have a couple of nihilites, I would recommend getting the quest giver to convert them for you. She/He will give you 2 back every time. It takes many conversions to start producing 2 yourself and many more to get 3 back every time.

It takes 500+ combines I think at least to get it to result into a guaranteed 3. Maybe more I don't even know....

I started doing it myself last summer. Sold golden nihilite earrings like crazy too. When you start combining yourself, you will only get 1 the first 100 combines or so. Then you get 1 and sometimes 2. Then you will get 2, then sometimes 3. In the end you will get a guaranteed 3 every time, which I just reached a few weeks ago.

Maartena, when looking back, was it really 1-for-1 for the first 100 combines? I can't recall having received 1-for-1 for more than about 10 combines of nihilite and aligned ore each. They either changed the progression, or I just have a spotty memory. =(

Back in the day, it was worth it to buy stack upon stack of aligned ore and raw nihilite to gain the magical "guaranteed 3-for-1 combine." Nowadays, shimmering is so cheap, it's not really worth "practicing" the combine. Trading it in for a guaranteed 2-for-1 through the merchant may be the best bet if you haven't already started "practicing."

It probably was the first 20 or 30 combines, it has been a while. I started doing it right after GoD was released, or not long after......

It progresses over time. It took me almost 10 months to get to the guaranteed 3-per-time that I have now. You will know when you click combine and you have a stack of 3. If you are still in the range that you may get 2 instead of 3, you will have a stack of 2, followed by a "stack" of 1.

By the way, I combined Pale Nihililte only as Shimmering Nihilite was waaay to expensive on Morden Rasp for some silly reason. On Povar it was a lot cheaper, and after the merge I got a guaranteed 3 shimmering as well, so whatever skillup path the nihilite combine was on, also goes for shimmering. May go for other combines too.

I have notes from when I started doing the conversions in three skills, I received:
27-30 pieces from my first stacks of conversions,
31-32 pieces from my second stacks,
35 pieces from my third stacks,
35-37 pieces from my fourth stacks,
38-39 pieces from my fifth stacks - this stack I began getting the guaranteed two on the cursor

People have reported getting their first guaranteed two on the cursor from between the 81st combine and the 98th, that I have heard.
