  • Stuck at 282....

Okay, I got 282 in Jewelry and I am stuck. I simply don't have the cash to waste 200+ pp per skillup, and ever since the 300 cap got implemented it has been RARE to see diamonds and blue diamonds etc on merchants.

I have been buying up Geodes and Amethysts from the Bazaar and even setup a Buyer wanting to buy them for a while but not much luck.

Is there any way to do the chains without losing a heap of money?

What places do you recommend to go farm blue diamonds at?

Are there any other recipes I am overlooking that I could try?

Well, the Gunthak Lighthouse merchants seem to be overlooked..... I just bought a whole lot of diamonds and blue diamonds that got me to 288 So 12 more skillups to that Master title....

Try Natimbi merchants also, may be some on there from people's various GoD groups, Druid/Gypsies in LS may also yield a few.

Gnomes in the two corpse summoning rooms and the Magus in guild lobby if you have DoN.

I got up to 290 now..... I bought up all diamonds I could find on merchants all across Norrath and beyond. 10 more skillups to 300!

I'm also very broke. I bought some scale ore however and made jewelry with it. Hopefully it will sell well so I can find Blue Diamonds!

Thing is, the Blue Diamond Velium and Platinum pieces sell back to the merchant for a small loss on the total, and I can live with that. I have made about 40 Geode Velium Bracelets too but those sell for 7 gold or something low like that to merchants so they are on my trader for 300p

Most of the LDON combines tribute well the Velium Geode Bracelet tributes for 780, and the Velium Polished Quartz Necklace is a little higher cant recall atm the amount.

I'm not sure what level you are, but another slightly unusual possibility to 295 is Iron Amulet of Unseen Horrors.

If you can actually get to the Nightmare Mephits then the blood drops a LOT (more than 50% per mob I would say).

Iron, Diamonds and Midnight stones drop off Hobgoblins, or you can vendor mine for them. I guess the Midnight stones would be the bottle neck.

Amulet vendors for over 300pp so more than covers the sapphires, or tributes for a healthy 2400 so you may be able to line up buyers for >500pp a time just for tribute.

Having said all that - if you can farm mephits, then you've probably got enough cash to do chains anyway

Upside: Woohoo, I have 292 skill in Jewelry!

Downside: WTS Velium Geode Bracelets, 250p - thats less then production costs!! - Have 65 to sell. PST.

I am level 63. That does not automatically mean I am uber rich.

Midnight stones should be a lot harder to find now.. dark elves and erudites use them for cultural smithing (mastery level).... and it's probably a better component for that.

Remember, that while the palladium stuff sells for crap to npc vendors, the palladium black sapphire earring (295 trivial) will sell well to lower level people to twink with.

The only velium i did combines of was diamond and blue diamond.. it sold back at least for some plat... the downside of the ldon stuff.

The 4 big dropped gems, jacinth, black sapphire, diamond and blue diamond probably would be easier to get using barter.. as once npc vendors fill up, and people buy them off... we're stuck with up to 4 weeks waiting for the servers to come down... as normal. I like uptime > downtime, but the extended uptimes really make vendors almsot worthless for gathering items. This should push our top ten list "rotating stock on vendors" priority higher.

I skilled up some more. Used a whole bunch of Velium and Geodes and Amethysts. I now have 25k in Tribute points and 8k for the guild!

It cost me about 15 k, but I got a few more skillups and I am now at 294 JC

With the upcoming change where you will need 20% more combines then before between 250 and 300, I hope to get as close as possible to 300 before patch day on April 6th

297 And dead, dead, dead broke.....

If anyone sees Chantenya on Morden Rasp give her 50k or so

I'm stuck at 290. Clearly I need Blue Diamonds- which is the same as needing plat! This is strange - these 300 caps have made me broke for the first time in 18 monhts!

The economy on my server is messed up (for me) . My old reliable plat makers (Solstice items, Ceramic Shields and Artisans ) are just not moving. But I want to get to 300!

Can anyone give some fresh advice on farming plat for a 66 Enchanter? I don't want to stand and Kei (I do that often but for free). I don't want to sell to players to make it back. Just old fashioned hunting and merchant selling.

I'm thinking of Rathe (can it still be the best?) or Sirens (the gem drops must be better than Rathe plus a chance at Crushed Diamond Dust) or do I wait my turn at necro in Old Seb? Any other places to earn pure old plat?

                              Plat farming at level 66..

The big one to jump out to me would be Dranik's Scar. While mob - mob the cash drops are much worse then Rathe, you can typically score 3-6 augs there per 3-4 hours of hunting. Not only do these present another shot at a skillup, but they sell decently too.

I list radiant resist augs for 5k, stat augs for 10k.. and they always sell on Stormhammer.

You gain faction for OoW Teir 1, and you also have a chance at slugworms, or trean flies.. price varies by server.
