  • Level 60 and not skilling up.

Am I restricted from getting past 250 at Level 60? I must have done over 100 combines with Velium/Pearls and I have not skilled up once! Am I cursed by the RNG gods or do I need to wait till I level some more and get my Int past 255.

There is no level restriction on the tradeskills. Only the fact that 1 of the main 7 can go above 200 without spending AA.

Going 100+ combines with no skill ups is not unheard of. Sounds like the RNG being evil.

My level 47 shammy was able to ding baking to 251, so there can't be a level restriction. Sounds like the RNG was picking on you

      RNG was the culprit

I went back at it and after a bit started to get all the way to 284 is it worth it to get to 300 and use trophy or go to point trophy gets me to 300?

I would say it is worth it. I believe there is not currently a known hard cap, so with the 5% mod from the trophy at a natural skill of 300, you will have a mod of 315. The OoW augments still have a 351 trivial, so the closer you can get, the better.

Unlike how 250 worked where the cap with modifiers was 252, the modified cap at 300 is more than the 315 you can get with the trophy. That said, by skill 293 with 5% you will reach 95% success on the highest trivial combines right now (351 augment cutting). On a separate note, skilling up on velium is a lot more expensive than skilling up on platinum, since the vendor buyback on velium is low.

Ironically, I was starting to thing the gods cursed me too, as it took me over 200 combines to skillup to 251. After that it went a little smoother, and although sometimes it still took me almost a 100 combines for a single skillup, I am now 280 in Jewelcrafting.

I've noticed as I skill up that I get *stuck* at a skill point and have to do a LOT of combines to get passed it. Once passed it, I'll usually get 2 or more quick skill ups in rapid succession... until I find the next *sticky* spot. :/

It does seem to be taking a lot of combinations to skill up jewelcrafting. Now, my gnome is only 30th level and limited to an intelligence of 255, but he's been averaging about 100 combinations per skill-up from 250 to his present 284. My halfling's average combinations per skill-up point was 22 to reach Master Baker (his wisdom is also limited to 255).

Just started working on skill ups past 250 with my 59 Gnome Enchanter. He has 255 INT, trophy and geerloc. It took over 5 K PP and over 300 combines using Enchanted Plat to get to 255.

I have found it best skilling up in jewelry to go to then next highest trivial instead of jumping form say Platinum to Velium is the best route. ( I have two level 250 Jewelers ).

                  Happy clicking
